I drove all the way from North Minneapolis, and I’m so glad I did. He did a super clean job and even recorded a video while working, which is perfect for me to show him next time so I can get the same cut again. The video looked so good that I posted it on my Instagram and everyone loved it. I used to pay $80 at my old barber, but the quality was nowhere near this level. I’m really happy I found my new barber. I won’t be going anywhere else from now on. Definitely recommend him to everyone truly top tier work.

Experiencia negativa: I walked into this barbershop to ask if they had any availability for a low bald taper—a standard cut I get regularly at barbershops. The barber told me they couldn’t cut my hair because I’m a woman. I clarified that I wasn’t asking for a salon-style cut—I just wanted a bald taper. He still insisted it was “against the law” to cut women’s hair, which is completely false. I’m a licensed barber myself—I cut all kinds of hair, and I’ve had my own hair cut at many other barbershops without issue. Discriminating against someone because of their gender is not only wrong, it’s unprofessional. I left feeling disrespected and disappointed.

Experiencia negativa: I just wanted a side part. My hair naturally middle parts when it gets too long, so I made it very clear I needed a side part. I said it 3 times. After cleaning up the back, the barber started cutting both sides of my middle part symmetrically. I stopped him and reiterated side part. He said something like "yes, line up first, then style." After cutting a CLEAR MIDDLE PART he holds up the mirror and goes "what was the thing you said? side part? what is that?" After explaining it for the 5th time, dumbfounded, he tried to fix it but said the "new style" wouldn't work because it's cut too short. I went home and shaved my head.

Experiencia fantástica: This might be the best haircut I've ever gotten. The blend from the shorter back and sides to the longer top was smooth. He razored the edges with precision. I've got thinning hair, so feathering the front hairline is critical. He did it just right to make the most of the hairline I've still got :). He trimmed my eyebrows without even asking. This is the kind of skill and - more importantly, care -- that you rarely see these days. Thoroughly recommend.

My bang keep perfect with just a little trim exactly as I mentioned. I have to say it is abs a surprise since many Barber just cut my bang without even understanding Asian style is abs different. 2. He knows I am a little bit bald and adjust the cut based on that. Abs recommend.

You normally would want to make an appointment, but they were kind enough to take me in at the last minute. I am so glad I stumbled into this place. Weho is a God with mens hair. I have had some really great looking haircuts before, but SoHo hooked it up! I've never looked better! The compliments are pouring in. I must have really looked terrible before because nobody ever compliments my hair, but not anymore! Hahaha! I feel great because I look great! The haircut is $40 before tip, and I recommend bringing cash instead of card.

Experiencia negativa: If you want to pay $40+ to have your hairstyle ruined, this is the place to go. The barber didn’t even know what an undercut was and cut off all the long hair that was supposed to be left intact. Despite this, he pretended to know how to do an undercut. There's no point in telling them what style you want because they either don’t understand English or will just cut however they like. And if you enjoy having cut hair poked into your eyes, you’re in the right place. They’ll blast your face with cut hair using a powerful airgun, just to add to the experience. FYI, if you make an appointment for 4:30 pm, feel free to arrive 30 minutes late—you’ll still end up waiting 30 minutes past your scheduled time for a haircut.

This place is a disaster on multiple fronts. First off, their prices are absurdly high, especially for kids' haircuts. I was charged $40 for a basic, cut for my child. To add insult to injury, the barber was new and clearly inexperienced, & barely spoke English, He had just started that day and failed to mention this crucial detail before hacking away at my kid’s hair. To make matters worse, the barber had the audacity to take pictures of my child's head without asking for my permission. This invasion of privacy is completely unacceptable and unprofessional. When I inquired about getting a taper for myself, I was shocked to hear that they wanted to charge me the full price for just that simple service. Clearly, they are more interested in overcharging than providing good customer service. If that wasn't bad enough, they didn’t even have a proper payment system. I only had a credit card with me, and they forced me to walk across a busy street with my child to find an ATM to withdraw cash. This was not only inconvenient but also dangerous. In conclusion, HairLounge Barbershop is overpriced, unprofessional, and lacks basic amenities. Save yourself the headache and find another place for your haircuts!!!

However, the only reason I didn't give this business a 5 star rating is because they don't have a card machine. This is not really acceptable for a business in 2023 to not have a card machine.

I’ve seen a lot of these reviews mention Roy but I’ve been using Ahmed and the things he can do with hair are incredible — he can look a picture once and not only copy that style but also tailor it to your head/face shape to ensure it looks the best on you. He encourages me to change my style up every couple months and it’s made me expand my choices and not get bored of the same thing. The price is also very reasonable too with a base price of $40 but I normally add another $20 as a tip considering my haircuts take close to an hour.
