Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been living in PGH for about a year now but couldn’t find a barber that really took care of what I needed done, so I kept waiting for a few months at a time to go see my old barber when I’d go back and visit family in Maine. Booked an appointment on a whim with Miranda and I can honestly say I’ve found my barbershop. So much that next time I go visit Maine I’ll need to have Miranda cut my hair right before and stop in at my old shop and show my other guy that I’m still in good hands 750 miles away from home! Miranda was super patient with me during the consultation making sure she knew exactly what I wanted to look like (I have zero knowledge on terminology and she deciphered what I was asking for somehow) and the service was beyond exceptional from start to finish. $90 seems like a lot of money for a men’s haircut but this is like an hour at the spa but for men. Best haircut I’ve ever gotten alongside nose and ear waxing, eyebrow touch ups, shampooing before and after, styling, you name it. Booked my next appointment with Miranda before leaving and will be exclusively coming back to house of handsome and my new barber on a regular basis. Can’t recommend this place enough!

But Meaghen did amazing the side fade was very clean and the entire look has been very easy to maintain. As it's grown out over the last few weeks it has kept it's shape and style nicely. The auxiliary services are very nice as well. Not to mention the vibes inside are impeccable it seemed like everyone got along very well and conversation flowed. Definitely will be back again!

The quality of the cut is the best I've ever had (and I've been to other upscale barber shops). I love that they include a beard cut with the haircut if the beard is short. Experiencia positiva: So i came in here for a transformation cut about a month ago and the person who did my hair really rushed through everything, and didnt really consult me (idk much about hair) about what i wanted and if it would work with my hair type or not, so i asked for a blowout taper and got a slick back— she said it was cause its cause i have straight flat hair so there wasnt much i could do which wouldve been nice to know before and the pic i showed her had straight hair so idrk. I tried to let it marinate to see if it wasnt as bad as i thought but it was pretty bad so it was not worth the 80 dollars

The shop aesthetics are very thematic and well put together. Classy, clean cool vibes. Music choices were chill and old school, thinking 1930s-40s type songs. Got there on time and was seated for my cut within minutes. The team was polite, professional and welcoming. They asked and answered questions I had about my cut and worked with me to get the style I desired. Definitely up for conversation but not forceful to anyone wanting a more quiet and tranquil experience. Elizabeth, the manager was the one I booked for an appointment. She made me feel relaxed and pampered the whole hour or so I was there for my cut. Again, professional but seemed genuinely sweet. The woman definitely has presence. Very cool, and someone who is easily respected almost as soon as you meet her. Will tell you a corny dad joke, so not an overly serious barber either. I definitely want to return to this Barbershop and make it the only one I go to if possible. You should too, if you can.

Meaghen took really good care of me by suggesting the beard style/facial I wanted to get out of the experience. She was incredibly proficient and detailed in her work and couldn't have asked for more. The shop itself and the products they use seem to be really high quality. I have not found anything close to this experience in Houston, TX. On top of that, the rest of the team working there was very friendly. Experiencia fantástica: I was in town for a wedding and made appointment for a full grooming. I have very short, balding hair, but here, that does not matter. I had my hair trimmed, goatee trimmed, eyebrows trimmed, waxed ears and nose. I received an unbelievable facial treatment with steam, massage, cold stones, and the list goes on to only describe my experience as amazing! I have never received such a good treatment in all the years I have been having professional grooming, and that has been decades. The staff here is friendly, professional and attentive. It was important that I was satisfied, which I was, but also, comments from my family on how good I looked after the treatments was what really mattered. Thank you to the staff of House of Handsome. Even though I don't live in Pittsburgh, I will be making appointments whenever I visit my family.

Experiencia positiva: My purpose for writing this is to ensure their emailed business practice and promotion is made public. I’d hate for you to be happy with their services then are suddenly hit with a drastic price increase. This way, you understand their methodology and can make a decision that is best for you and your family. The shop sent out this email to us which is pretty concerning. I’m failing to understand the financial logic of this promotion with equal respect being given to the paying client as well. I do comprehend that her promoted services come with updated prices, I do NOT agree with the client paying for the promotion. It seems like the shop could fund their decision to promote her rather than having clients fund it. So, this business practice makes me concerned. Clients shouldn’t fund a promotion. I feel current clients should be grandfathered in rather than unexpected paying more with little warning while new clients get the promoted price. There is a reason why the online booking system is there, so you can make a personal financial decision you are comfortable with based on the services you’d like. This promotion price increase seems as if the clients are not being considered because financial decisions are being made for them. Your only options now are to cancel upcoming appointments with her, switch in house barbers, or find a new barber if you do not want to pay their new prices. While some might not seeing this as an issue, but I personally wouldn’t be comfortable with my husband paying $100 (plus tip) for a haircut.

Meaghan graciously came in to work early on about half a day's notice. She started my appointment early. She was laser focused and diligent without a wasted moment, and ended up finishing a few minutes over the booked hour. I have been shaving my head and trimming my beard myself for years. I've invested in nice, professional tools like Wahl Senior clippers, BaByliss Pro trimmer, Merkur double edge razor, beard oils, boar hair brushes etc. I thought I was generally doing a very good job keeping my beard nicely groomed, tidy, and well-kept. I've occasionally splurged on a visit to a barber, but it never felt worth it. Over the years, I've visited more than a dozen in and around the city. Lines never felt clean enough. Fades never seemed great. I always saw stray hairs running wild. Gentleman... This is it. This is the place. This is the barbershop. Meaghan is your barber, your stylist, your beard grooming guru, your salon savior, and your new best friend. I was in a hurry and had butchered my beard. I needed a professional, or I was going to have to trim off a couple inches of length. Meaghan didn't just save my beard; she resurrected it. Her incredible attention to detail, line work, shaping, and trimming made me realize how crummy of a job I've been doing at home. She made me realize how much talent, care, and experience a true professional brings to the table. What I do at home is the beer leagues, and what Meaghan does is The Show, The Big Leagues, The Pros. There is no comparison. I haven't even mentioned her charming, personable, and delightful demeanor. Meaghan has this wonderful knack of knowing how to float in and out of conversation at the perfect times to make the entire experience as relaxing and indulgent, yet fun and light-hearted as possible. This kind of touch only comes with years of experience and a true gift for being in tune with your clients. Oh, and the barber chair reclines, declines, inclines, and -clines any other way you could ask for. The (many!) hot, steamed towels had a hint of peppermint to them that was delightful. The neck and shoulder massage, the facial massage, the ear and nose waxing, the eyebrow trimming, the lotions, the oils, the brushes, and all the other services generously included for the price made for an incredible value. House of Handsome itself is beautifully and thoughtful decorated with a clear attention to detail. You can tell when love was put in to a design, and it certainly was the case inside of House of Handsome. From the moment I stepped through the door, I felt transported to a more gentlemanly and dignified place. The other barbers working at House of Handsome were equally as kind and welcoming. Ms Elizabeth jumped in and gave me some advice on a birthday gift for my partner. What a peach! I have no doubt they are also very talented. But Meaghan has already made me a customer for life! My partner was so excited with the results. I received multiple compliments (from both men and women) during the two hours that I was out running errands after my appointment. When you first enter you are greeted by a member of the team and they introduce you to every other member of the team, this felt really personable! The member of the team who cut my hair was Stormie, Stormie was professional, fun, knowledgeable. The rest of the team is extremely helpful as well, as I was a new client my cut took a bit longer due to consulting and etc. When Stormie’s next client walked in with me still in the chair, Brady sat down the client and began the preliminary procedures. I wasn't sure what to expect when I saw the decor compared to the usual barbershop but the service matched the quality of the interior. It's always a classy experience where it feels like a treat that I look forward to rather than a chore that I have to do. I visit here monthly and every haircut I've received has been top notch, no matter who is behind the chair. The cut is exactly the way I like it without having to re-explain what I want, the straight razor shave and beard trim is a nice treat (and always turns out better than I could do myself), and despite initial reservations, the ear/nose wax is a bit of needed maintenance that would likely go undone way too long if it wasn't part of the package. As someone that used to bounce to different barbershops and chains chasing deals or to find their one reliable provider, I consider myself lucky to have found House of Handsome when I did. I have my recurring appointment every 4 weeks and I plan on keeping that as long as I live in the burgh'.
