Experiencia negativa: Used to love getting my haircut here, until recently, when I went in and the stylist was rude in his tone to conversation starters e.g. “I don’t know what you mean…”. He ended up cutting one of my sideburns completely off without even asking me, and just left the back of my hair patchy instead of the mid fade I asked for. He never turned my chair around with the mirror to let me see the back, which I discovered when I got home. I called them and asked if I could come back in to have it fixed, and the second stylist faded an inch up from my neckline. I went in a third time, trying to give them the benefit of the doubt, and the 3rd stylist, after I very specifically emphasized that I wanted a “MID Fade” buzzed the back of my neck all the same length. Sadly, it feels like the ending of an era of good haircuts here.

We are truly sorry for how your recent visits have gone. From the tone of the initial stylist, to having your sideburn cut off without being asked, to not being shown the back of your haircut, and then needing to come back two more times, only to still not get the mid fade you clearly requested, that is not the level of service, communication, or consistency we want any client to experience. It is especially disappointing to hear this from someone who used to love getting their haircut with us, and we understand why it feels like the end of an era for you.
You should be able to clearly state what you want, feel listened to, be treated respectfully, and leave confident in your haircut without having to return multiple times. We take your feedback seriously and will be reviewing this with the shop leadership to understand what went wrong and how we can prevent this from happening again.

Experiencia fantástica: Trista is hands down the best I've ever worked with. Been going to her specifically for 10 years possibly more. She knows me by face and she is always in a good mood. I have never had a bad experience or needed to get my cut fixed because something wasn't exactly what I wanted. Staff at the counter is also always friendly and greets quickly. The shop is clean and I trust their processes.

Experiencia fantástica: Cool place. Pictures of different bands all over the walls. Very inclusive of all different races, neurotypes, genders, and sexualities. I felt extremely comfortable in the environment which is usually hard to do for me. My autistic son was also made to feel at ease which is hard to do. Stacy was our barber. She listened to what both of us wanted and directed her questions to me as she knew that my son was uncomfortable speaking. We both left with amazing haircuts and extremely satisfied with the experience.

Experiencia negativa: Figured I’d try Floyd’s again and made an appointment, showed up and they gave it away and offered a time an hour plus later to get my cut. Will not be coming back at that point. Y’all need a better system for making sure someone has an appointment and not giving them away.

Experiencia fantástica: I walked in looking like a castaway who’d been living on a deserted island for three years, and I walked out looking like I’m about to take your job, your girl, and a starring role in a high-budget action movie. Your people are basically hair-whisperers with magical hands. I didn’t even have an appointment, yet they welcomed me like a long-lost king returning to his throne. The products you use smell so good I’m genuinely tempted to put them on a cracker and eat them, and the service was so smooth I’m convinced your barbers are actually undercover agents for a secret "Look Good, Feel Good" government agency. I came in for a trim, but I left with enough confidence to start my own cult. 10/10, would walk in looking like a swamp monster again just to experience the transformation.

Experiencia negativa: Went in for a hair cut. The hair stylist asked if I liked the hair cut and as he's asking the question he noticed he didn't blend a part of my hair. He fixed it and asked how it looked again. In that moment it looked ok but once I got home I noticed two other parts that weren't blended correctly. The haircut felt very rushed. I was sitting in the chair for maybe 10 minutes. My haircut is somewhat simple but that was the fastest haircut I've ever had. Ridiculous I spent almost 50 bucks and I have to fix my haircut myself. If the stylist would have taken 1 or 2 extra minutes they would have noticed the mistakes.

Experiencia negativa: I really wanted to like this place based on the reviews, but my experience was a letdown. First off, I had an appointment, but still waited nearly 30 minutes before anyone acknowledged me. The shop felt disorganized and not very clean — hair all over the floor and tools not being sanitized between clients. The barber seemed rushed and barely listened to what I asked for. I asked for a simple fade with a little off the top, but ended up with uneven sides and a weird patch in the back. When I pointed it out, they just shrugged. On top of that, the price didn’t match the quality at all. For what I paid, I expected at least a decent cut and basic professionalism

I got a decent hair cut with decent service and on top of getting my ear cut with the scissors! It was absolutely not worth it, still made me pay for the cut after literally getting cut. Experiencia fantástica: My barber is Charlie, I followed him from the previos barber shop he was at. He has been cutting my three son’s hair for years now. I’ve stayed with him because he shows great attention to detail. My children are always highly satisfied with their cuts and request Charlie EVERY time. He has done exactly what my kids ask for every time and has gone above and beyond when my kids wanted new styles “but weren’t sure what they wanted”. From childhood to teen years with my kids. Experiencia negativa: My husband drives 2 hours to continue to come here for his haircut after moving out of state. Is it perfect and consistent every time? No. Each visit brings a new face and a new fade line or cut. We book appointments every single time. Today, driving in from another state we were unaware of not one but 2 different road work locations in town. Arriving 3 minutes after our scheduled appointment time we were met with huffing puffing eye rolling and eye contact from the front desk to the THREE barbers sitting spinning in their empty chairs. We would have been HAPPY to wait or reschedule. Bad attitude and the unprofessional approach is why I’m leaving this review.Allison. You are not professional. It was a conversation hey you’re late ( we know, our fault!!) we may have to ask you to wait. Not a problem at all!!! This is also a walk in service so I’m confused as to why being 3 mins late was such an issue with the walk In unpredictability? as a business you should be appreciative of the ones who do take the time to schedule with you.Allison . If you don’t want to be here and provide good communication and customer service then don’t be . Still FOUR empty chairs when we left. Be kind. It’s free. We would have gladly waited or rescheduled we knew we were late due to road work.

Experiencia negativa: Everyone was friendly except my barber. He was very rude and unprofessional he didn’t help me out with what kind of haircut I wanted since I don’t know anything about hair or hairstyles I was hoping for a professional opinion and advice but instead I got lectured about not knowing anything about hair and on top of that he was extremely rude whenever I’d ask him a question about it. Never dealt with such an a hole when getting a haircut.

Experiencia negativa: The staff is indeed friendly and welcoming. The establishment, is clean and neat, with some beautiful jams playing in the back ground. I was feel good about my choice of coming to Floyd for the first time However toward the end I was regretting my choice (1) there is poor lightning inside the building; and (2) I felt like my barber didn't quite understand what my request nor understood the reference pictures I showed him to better explain my request. I felt that he wasn't honest with me about a mohawk with a bald fade. I left disappointed and pressured to tip especially because the barber stayed with you the whole time, during the paying process. I did call that same day, later that night and expressed my disappointment appointment in my hair cut. Again it was simple to schedule a time to come in for the baber to correct his mistake. But his lack of skills influence me to cancelled the appointment.

Experiencia positiva: I've gotten my hair cut at this location for 7 years and have had good experiences. This last experience 2/7/2025 was real bad. There is a shorter blonde woman on their staff with blue and red highlights and glasses that botched mine and a co workers hair this week. My coworker had to shave his head completely because his fade line went up and over the crown of his head. He told me about it on Monday and I was surprised because I've gone to this location for so many years. I got a haircut today without thinking much about it. Surprise! I got the same person. She luckily gave up after getting nowhere and asked her coworker to finish the cut on my hair. I later confirmed with my co worker that it was the same person. Recommend you steer clear of this specific employee. If I wanted someone to practice cutting hair on me, I'd go to Great Clips and get a $15 haircut.

Experiencia fantástica: Regan was very knowledgeable, attentive, skilled, and friendly. She went above and beyond, really working with my wave patterns to get the desired effect. She even explained how I could continue to shape it how I wanted after I left (eliminating the issue of the haircut looking completely different the next day)! I've been aiming for this style for years, but this is the first time someone's really nailed it HEAD ON. Best haircut of my life, definitely coming back!

Experiencia negativa: I've always gotten a great haircut here, unfortunately the employees at this location have recently taken up the practice of following you to the counter and hovering over your shoulder while you pay. Obviously to try and pressure you into leaving a bigger tip. I saw it happen to everyone while I was waiting and then it happened to me when I checked out. Just so you guys know: everybody knows this is what you're doing and nobody appreciates it. Its terrible service, and terrible service doesn't deserve any tip at all.

Experiencia negativa: My partner just got his hair cut here by Cass and she was completely incompetent. She couldn’t figure out the style he wanted at first, so he decided to change to a style he has had before and showed some reference photos to her. She had to step away to ask a colleague how to do the cut. Even then, she completely disregarded what he asked for and didn’t listen to any of his input at all. She gave him a generic short male hair cut and even scratched/poked him in the eyes with her nails as well. Overall, a terrible experience and it will take my partner quite some time to get back to the length he wanted after it was cut so short.

Experiencia negativa: I will never come back here or recommend this place again. Stylist refused to cut my hair. Been coming here for a decade. I had one single bad haircut months ago, addressed it, was happy with response, now come back today scheduled with the same person to reconcile and they pass me to someone else. You make a small complaint, they give you a bad reputation as a customer then your experience is never the same here. I don’t want your robotic reply, treat your customers better!

Experiencia negativa: Unfortunately today we had a very bad experience with my boyfriend's haircut, the person who attended us, his attitude was very despotic the moment he received us, perhaps because we are Hispanic I suppose, the treatment is starting to get different! I cut his hair in less than 25 minutes, apart from the fact that the cut was very bad, I didn't blend it, I clipped the beard, on one side I left it shorter than the other side and I ran the machine without paying attention to anything, I don't respect the design that All I had was to touch it up. she just cut it off. If you don't know about customer service, much less a haircut, just don't do it. These services are careful because the client places trust in you, and that is not right. Fortunately the hair grows back. This person's name is CASS

Experiencia negativa: My hairstylist was Ruggeri, Worst experience with this hairstylist, I have called in and scheduled they have assigned me to the new hair stylist who is learning how to cut the haircut with 50% off, they are saying 50% off because they assign you to the new hair stylist who is learning how to cut the haircut so the guy name is Ruggeri I have asked him to cut off an inch of same hairstyle I have , just simple he haven’t cutter the hair on the top and just had cut it on sides and back and said all set and he doesn’t know how to talk to a customer and he has some attitude issues becuare of his behavior I have got very bad experience for the first visit. I would suggest to the owner of this store to remove him or have him change his behaviour near the customers , first of all he need to learn the behavior how to speak and behave near the customers then have him do the hair cuts, hair cut can be done by anyone but his attitude and bahaviour will make customers experience bad so first of all have him learn how to greet and how to behave with the customers with the expert or senior La in the shop then have him learn the hair cut. Really because of him the store gets bad review if the store gets bad review there might be other persons who is doing well they also get effected because of such employees He should first be a human being and value and respect others then he should learn how to do the hair cut Mine main intention is that this need to be seen by the owner of the store so that he can know about this employee so that in future will not get effected to other customers thank you

Experiencia fantástica: When I first went in for my appointment, I explained to the barber what hairstyle/haircut I was looking for. Rather than doing a ok job they referred me to a different barber there that would work best with my hair. I am quite happy with the haircut now and will definitely comeback next time I need a cut! Experiencia fantástica: I found my barber her name is Trista B. I never got over wearing a flat top from my military days. So needless to say with that cut you have to be picky because every little mistake shows. Trista is now, for as long as she us here, the only person who will be cutting my hair! It's also nice and comfortable but for me Trista is the gem that makes the place shine.

I came back asking for someone else and Stacy S stepped up to the plate and hit the home run! I return by weekly now and only see Stacy S! She’s amazing and dependable! It’s easy to schedule with Stacy and I always look clean and professional when I leave! Floyd’s will have my business at the college Ave location so long as Stacy S is there!

Experiencia negativa: I do not recommend this location. My boyfriend just returned from a haircut from Matthew at this location. He came back like this!!! The pictures don’t really show just how uneven the lines are. It looks worse in person. He also was given a lovely new bald spot. The barber didn’t even bother to show him the back because of it. My boyfriend said it’s seemed like Matthew was in a bad mood as he didn’t even make any small talk and rushed to get him out there, which obviously shows in his haircut, even though it wasn’t busy. We understand when employees have a bad day but it’s not okay to take it out on customers especially when they’re cutting their HAIR. Some people really care about their hair and mess ups like this can mean a lot to someone. I don’t usually like leaving negative reviews but this is absolutely unacceptable and other customers should know. I suggest retraining your employees.

Experiencia positiva: I’ve been here a few times. I stop by because there are not a lot of cars in the parking lot. I go inside to see if they have time for a walk in. Not a single person in a chair getting service but there were 5 employees standing near the desk. They said they didn’t have time for a walk in. I find this frustrating and it seemed like they just didn’t want to do anything. Like I said not one person was getting a haircut. I understand that I didn’t have an appointment but prior to Covid I never made an appointment. When will walk in be accepted again? Update to owner response. I made the mistake of going to great clips and got a hack job by a young guy that was high on something that wasn't good. Seriously. Anyways my family will go to Floyd's from now on and nobody else. Experiencia negativa: First and last visit. Looking for new barber after mine retired so gave Floyd’s a try. The chairs in the waiting area had cracked upholstery and floors were unswept. Receptionist was surly, disinterested and did not make eye contact. My haircut was ok but then person who rang me out was having his hair done by another hair stylist while distractedly ringing up the sale. Completely unsatisfactory service before and after.

Experiencia fantástica: Gotten my haircut here now multiple times, and have been happy walking out every time. Everyone is welcoming and the stylists are great. Mathew has cut my hair every time I have gone and he has never let me down. He always has gone out of his way to make sure it is exactly how I want. My only complaint would be the lighting being darker than it used to be when I originally started coming. Otherwise I would highly recommend coming here.

Experiencia fantástica: Took my daughter here to get her beautiful long hair layered. They did an excellent job. She looks gorgeous and is so happy with the cut! It's a super hipster atmosphere, but not pretentious. Our stylist was immediately inviting and friendly. This will be my go-to place from now on.

It’s a bit expensive but the cut is always even unlike experiences I’ve had a long time ago at places like great clips.

Experiencia fantástica: Staci S. was fantastic! I was hesitant to get a haircut because my last haircut experience (somewhere else) was awful, but I was long overdue for a haircut. She did an amazing job cutting my hair. Though the main reason I get a haircut somewhere instead of just cutting my hair myself is, I love getting my hair washed, and Staci was, hands down, the best shampoo I have ever gotten anywhere. (Side note: if you have thick, curly hair, she knows exactly how to work with it, which is very rare in my experience.) Thank you!
