Experiencia negativa: First time was great, but I got a significantly different haircut the second time I went there with similar instructions. I spent months growing my hair out and asked specifically for a low skin taper with some layering done to the longer top, but ended up getting a high fade with the top losing around half of its original length. After giving the basic instructions, I usually leave it to the barber to work on their craft, as everyone has their own approaches to things, but this isn't what I asked for at all, and the final result is also very uneven, with parts of the head randomly having bits sticking out due to the unevenness of the hair. The service was decent, but I cannot recommend coming here due to the inconsistency.

Experiencia negativa: Just got a hair cut and I’m very disappointed. During the haircut, I wasn’t offered the services that were allegedly included besides a hair wash at the end of the haircut. During the cut, the person cutting my hair made comments on my hairline, asking me if I wanted to try to hide it. Not cool. To be honest I don’t even know the name of the employee as the only thing that was really said was that I needed to hide my hairline lol. Should have just gone to great clips.

Experiencia negativa: Arrived at my scheduled appointment with the door locked and this sign on the door. I took time off of work and drove 30 minutes to get here. This is completely unacceptable @management. At least cancel my appointment and send me a notification about it. I've been coming here for years. Margie is awesome. This isn't on her.

Experiencia negativa: I normally cut my own hair but have been busy so I needed something quick I could hit on the way home from running errands that day. I've been here once before about a year ago and had a meh experience so I tried it again. I won't be returning. The guy didn't clean the tools between customers. The clippers were covered in the guy's hair and stuff from right before me. Brought me back to the station and the previous guy's hair was still all over. He swept it up in front of me... right into a corner where there was a HUGE pile of hair, presumably, the whole day's worth. Disgusting. All for a so-so haircut for $45 before tip... Save your money for a local barber instead! For anyone wondering, there are no hot towels or shoulder massages, as the older comments suggest.

Eyebrow trimming was included for free which is always nice. While there are more high end places to get haircut I can't think of a good reason not to come here again.

He was able to inform me that it unfortunately wasnt saveable and why, so we had to cut it, and I felt confident about that decision knowing that if he could have saved it he would of done everything he could to do so. I hadent had a good haircut in years, so I must be fairly picky. He took his time, spent like what must have been an hour. Making sure to design the cut specifically to my hair line. Communicating with me about it as i asked along the way. It was perfect. I felt so good afterwards, got tons of compliments. I wish I had found this place and John 2 years ago. I didnt even miss my long hair after that. I walked out of there feeling like a whole new person. I'm setting up my second appointment now. This guy is an artist and cares about his work. Highly recommend. Well worth the price of one day for weeks or months of looking good

I’d say 2 of the cuts were in alignment with what I was looking for and the rest I had to modify at home with my own clippers. Today will unfortunately be my last visit as I got a botched haircut that is patchy and embarrassing. Going to book for another shop tomorrow so they can help with damage control.

Experiencia negativa: I have been a customer of the Barbershop for a little over a year since moving to Madison. Today will be the last time in... I made an appointment on 6/24/2024 for a haircut on 7/25/2024 with my barber. When I arrive today, I'm told they can't find my appointment and confirmed who I was there to see. I was told my barber left 7/11/2024 and moved to Milwaukee. I never received an email or phone call to let me know that my appointment was canceled. If you weren't going to notify me you could have at least moved my appointment to a different barber. The receptionist then told me they didn't have time for a 'walk-in' and could reschedule for a different day. I leave for vacation in 2 days - so that wasn't an option.

Experiencia negativa: Due to an unforeseen circumstance traveling to the barbershop I was exactly 4 minutes late even after confirming on my phone that I am indeed on my way. How is there no policy in place for even a 5-minute window of a guest not running behind but rather stuck in traffic because the city was doing maintenance on a fire hydrant.

Experiencia negativa: Have given clear instructions on what I wanted, and they’ve only had one person give a good haircut. Staff is incredibly rude at times and for the price and how fast they worked, it’s not worth it.

I unfortunately went to a different salon earlier that day and was not happy with the results. So when I met the barber who's name is Brandon he took one look and knew how to fix it. I was much happier with his work and he is a master of his craft. I am going to return there from now on!

This 5 stars goes out to Bennett who gave me the best cut I’ve gotten in years. Seems like he is able to take what you tell him and make it work for your face / head shape and hair. Experiencia negativa: Had my most recent cut with Tito. Scheduled a full service haircut "20-40 minutes" for 9AM. I got there at around 8:50. I didn't get sat down until after 9:05. I was sat down in Sport Clips 10 minutes away by 9:35 getting my cut fixed. Didn't get anything but a cut. Asked to get my hair styled and got lectured and berated that my hair was to long. The amount of time Tito spent doing that, could have just done the styling. Left with a rats nest on my head. Seemed like Tito didn't want to be there. Overall the experience was incredibly uncomfortable, and with a building full of employees and customers quite humiliating as well. Probably won't be back.

Experiencia positiva: The haircut was good. Liked my barber. I do not like the suggested tip feature. Tipping is important but on a fixed income 10-15% is more reasonable. For this reason alone I may go back to the old fashioned 2 char shop even though I prefer yours.

Experiencia positiva: I’ve come here twice now. First time was a 4/5 experience. Pretty good cut, I liked the hot towel, the lady was nice (I forgot her name sorry!), and the atmosphere was decent. The price is better than most of anywhere else around here! Second time was a 2/5. I was 4 mins late, so my fault there, but the guy Bennett finished my entire haircut in 10 minutes so I was done 15 mins early anyways. It was very rushed, he didn’t ask how I wanted the neck line done and just went for it, and the blend on the sides wasn’t very good. Overall, I would recommend coming here for the value, you just have to find the right Barber.

Experiencia negativa: The haircut itself was okay. The overall experience did not feel very VIP. A 60-minute booking that took 30 minutes felt very rushed. I'm paying $72 dollars for a simple haircut, and i mean simple, plus beardtrim to feel like the goal is to get me out the door ASAP feels outrageous. One negative from the haircut was that I noticed after the appointment that my mustach length is not symmetrical. The second is that I am a disabled veteran with back problems that cause my head to tilt and not align with my spine. My barber, after a few times, asked me to keep my head straight, was getting frustrated despite my explanation. It did not make me feel good, as if I enjoy back problems and my head constantly being slightly off center. The other staff I had encountered did not seem very friendly. Though not too much of an issue, my barber was plenty friendly in the beginning until there was frustration with my head tilt issues. As someone who has just moved to the Madison area, I will continue my search for a detailed shop to curate an experience where I feel like my appearance and experience as a paying customer are the top priorities

The waiting area featured comfortable leather chairs instead of the plastic seats you would be more likely to find at other establishments. The sectioned styling stations, each with their own television and wash/rinse sink, provided a sense of privacy that enhanced the experience. I worked with Brandon, who was friendly, funny, and efficient. Brandon gave me what I thought was a great cut, and he was incredibly quick about it. I will definitely return when I need my next cut.

I got a shoulder massage and a shampoo with a peppermint scent. I've not been to a barber since my barber closed her doors. The Barbershop is definitely equally as amazing! Experiencia fantástica: First time at the Shop. The place is clean and neat. I liked that each chair had its own TV. I particularly liked the privacy walls in-between the chairs. My barber was courteous and attentive. He took his time to get the cut right, always checking before he would make the cut. He did a real good job cutting my hair, especially since he never cut it before. He was conversive, but not too chatty. And that’s fine. I liked watching golf on TV. I’ve read some really bad reviews about this place, and I’m sure there is validity to them. But, I have nothing bad to say about my cut, barber, or the place in general. I’d go back for sure.

I showed up at 5:30 and was told very rudely that it was at 5:20 and they did not have time to cut my hair. All I have to say is what happened to customer service. I’d recommend going else where.

Experiencia negativa: I made an appointment with this shop for the second time about 2 weeks in advance. I was running ONLY 5 minutes behind and attempted to call them to let them know I was running late. After getting the busy tone time and time again while on my way, I figured they changed the phone number. When I arrived, I was greeted by Tito, the person I as scheduled with. He didn't smile or even say hello. Just gave me this look of judgement and disdain. He informed me that he was about to call me and he noticed his phone was off the hook the ENTIRE time. No apology for that. Whatever. We start my haircut and this man is rushing. I apologized for being late and as we went through my hair cut, I felt more and more that he just wanted me out of his chair. After getting through some of the haircut he stops and says, "That's all the time I have for today, my next client is here." My hair, at this point is not finished. It was made to look just good enough for him to feel good about his job. I asked if theres a time I could come in for him to finish, and he informed me that not only would I be charged full price again if I came back, but next time I would be charged double because, "the type of hair and how much you have, you need to book 2 full slots." So, not only did Tito not finish the service I came in for, he chose to make me feel like it's my fault for having thick hair. It is discrimination to charge people extra for having different hair than "normal". This shop is a joke, they don't deliver on what they promise and kick you out if they don't want to finish their jobs. Last time I go here. I will follow up with the BBB and make sure they know this goes on.

Initially walked out happy & didn't think the red spots were serious but 3 days later I have wounds above eyebrows on my forehead & ears as a result. Never once had this issue in the past. Won't recommend for waxing needs but will recommend for haircut.

Experiencia negativa: Went in for a "full service haircut". I was assigned to Bennett. I was 7 minutes late owing to snow and traffic due to icy roads this morning. Bennett said he had time only for a dry haircut since I was late. I accepted that. The haircut was very mediocre and no attention to detail to make sure it was symmetric. It seemed as if he wanted me out of there as soon as possible. I don't know how much time they allocate for each full service appointment but the haircut was done in about 10-12 minutes which in my opinion was really fast and might have had time for full service. Oh well. I paid $29 for a mediocre haircut. Won't be coming back.

Being a gentleman of 50 yrs young if I say I would like a "high n tight" I know what I'm talking about. I know it would be a drastic change from what I came in with. Please don't hesitate to give the customer what they want.

They are walk-in friendly, in theory, and the staff are all very welcoming, but I can save you the time and tell you they are probably booked at least a day or two out. There isn't anyone on hand to handle walk-ins specifically. Still, it's probably worth waiting the extra day if you can, they do a great job.
