Experiencia negativa: I genuinely wanted to like this barbershop and gave it two opportunities. During my first visit, the haircut was decent, though it wasn’t cut quite as short as I prefer. I assumed it was simply part of the adjustment process when trying a new shop. Unfortunately, my second experience was disappointing. The barber I saw initially was unavailable, so I booked with someone else. This time, the haircut lacked proper blending, leaving a noticeable line around my head — essentially a #1 guard followed by a harsh transition rather than a smooth fade. Additionally, the appointment felt rushed. Given the premium pricing, I expected a higher level of precision and overall experience. Regrettably, that standard was not met.

I’ve come in straight off a night shift completely exhausted and was given a calm, quiet haircut without a second thought. Other times, when I’ve been more energetic, they’ve engaged perfectly. The stylists are consistently excellent, and the overall experience strikes the perfect balance between professionalism and comfort.

The team is professional, genuinely attentive, and highly skilled. My barber, Gabriel, listened carefully to what I wanted and delivered a precise, perfectly balanced beard trim that was clean and professional yet true to my personal style. The attention to detail was outstanding. What really elevated the visit was the warm welcome; a whiskey tasting right when I checked in, plus a complimentary pour of excellent top shelf bourbon at check out. It's a thoughtful touch that turns a grooming appointment into something special and memorable. The shop itself feels refined and comfortable that exceeds expectations far more than your average barbershop. This wasn't just a trim as it was a full, enjoyable experience that left me feeling sharp and relaxed. I'll definitely be back for future services, including their signature Ten Year haircut and an appointment for an ear waxing. If you're in the San Antonio area looking for top-tier grooming paired with a great vibe and a drink, I highly recommend Scissors & Scotch. I recommend it four stars a since the bar stools are far too short to feel comfortable; the bartender could only see me from the neck up!

Experiencia negativa: I've given this place two chances. The first time I waited 45 min after my reserved time because my stylist wasn't there. After an hour I left. Today, I booked a duo wax. My service started over 10 min late. My stylist could barely open his mouth to speak and looked like he didn't want to be there. I distinctly told him that I wanted to do Eyebrows and nose. Next thing I know he's sticking wax in my ears. No problem, I'll just add eyebrows. However this was the quickest, sloppiest eyebrow wax I've ever had. When I arrived home I realized I'd still need to pluck a to get what he missed. The kicker is this cost $51 with tip. I booked a duo for less than $30 and got a shitty overall job for $51. Done with this place. It's indeed a place for wives to drop their husbands that don't know any better.

I will not call the businesses out but have gone to many and they all suck at cutting hair! My son found this place and shared it with me. I made the appointment for Friday December26th. I was skeptical but Mariah N turned it around !! She took a bad hair cut 6 weeks ago that was so uneven and made me a customer! She did an awesome job! I placed my card on hold to avert additional attempts to charge and sent an email to Debbie Hobbs on September 12, 2025. Unlocking my card was cumbersome and was charged thereafter for two more months.

Experiencia fantástica: I recently moved to the San Antonio TX area and whenever one moves, they have to reestablish all of their long-standing relationships, including where you go to get your haircut. It can be a very intimidating, an anxiety inducing experience to have to find someone that you can trust to cut your hair in a way that instills that same level of confidence that you’ve known for years. The staff at Scotch and Scissors at The Quarry did an amazing job of making me feel welcome, comfortable, and assured that I would have a great experience and I did! Stylist, Lydia, did an amazing job and took “baby steps” in cutting and styling my hair which made me feel that she really cared with each turn of the clipper or scissors. The wash, rinse, hot towel, treatment was top notch! I arrived early and enjoyed my complimentary cocktail seated in their leather lounge chairs! I will return!! Five stars!!

The only aspect the keeps it from a 5-star review is that the shave itself was not very close. A second pass with a finer razor and a reverse shave will elevate the overall result. The staff took less than 10 minutes to cut my hair and they didn't seem to know how to use a pair of scissors and it was very uneven Sending me to get it adjusted elsewhere and now waiting fir it too grow to fix the rest. Just a quick cut with clippers wash and absolutely little to no scissors and they did not even do a final check on my hair I did call to cancel and I was asked to elaborate and I said I did not wish to speak any more have a good day no thank you check my Google Review. I had just fell back to sleep and got a call from the same person that I said that I did not wish to speak anymore .I was a bit rude and I thought she was rude to call me back after I said I was through kindly the first time not so kindly the second time. They charge a top dollar price and delivers a mid at best quality at least for me. I sms them more info more harsh than my review.This place cost me a friend after I posted this review.Not Recommended unless you like too flirt at I have not had anybody reference a good haircut They know only the persons who cut their hair and how cute they are..

It balances the atmosphere of giving men an ideal, relaxing atmosphere with keeping people on staff that can actually give you a consistently good haircut. It's often one, not both. The only small critique I could give at this point would be to make things seem a little more private once you're in the chair.

Got turned away even though I showed up early in the morning and all I needed was a simple and quick haircut. They're a perfect example of the kind of barbershop that feels the need to overcomplicate everything. Won't be coming back here and I'll avoid any of these types of barbershops in the future.

Experiencia negativa: Came here looking for a new place since I had a fallout with my stylist of 2 years. Was expecting a better welcome atmosphere. Didn’t bother asking me for a water or anything after having to wait a little longer cause Gabriel doesn’t do long hair cuts. The girl that attended me did a decent job but didn’t notice she left too many hairs that stuck out from the sides until I got home. After washing my hair, was going to tie it with a band all wet so I had to ask her to blow dry it. Didn’t bother putting heat protect cream and please don’t say, “the dryer is high tech so you don’t need any.” My former stylist had a Dyson and still used a cream. Also felt she was rushing since it was 4pm. Only bright stop was the girl who finally offered me something to drink, which I just wanted a Diet Coke. Maybe I should bury the hatchet and go back to my stylist.

Experiencia fantástica: Wow I mean Wowza! I ran in to this group 2 years ago as they had a tent during a golf event for ESPN. I met the manager, Eliana, and I said I would come visit. Saw that tent 3 more times, at 3 more events and Eliana and group convinced me to finally show up. Why did I wait 2 years? Rebeca did my hair cut and shave, wow again, it was a great experience. Awesome place with awesome people! If you have not tried it, try it. Worth every penny! I got home ands my wife goes, “Que bien te ves!” Inside joke there unless you lived in the valley!
