Experiencia negativa: Bait and switch pulled, had appointment with who they said was their best beard guy, Art. Not who I got. Kid gave the worst scalp shave I’d ever gotten. My electric razor does a better job. Face shave was incomplete, did not shave my neck. Bread trim was with clippers and no shaping was done….and…cut my lip with clippers. I’ll never darken their doors again.

Experiencia negativa: I used to come here every month years ago and enjoyed my experience. It’s been a while since I’ve been back and won’t be back again after I was mislead into paying $30 plus tip for a basic 10 minute beard trim. Website states $15 but when I checked out, the stylist asked me to wait before paying and changed the price from the booked fee of $15 to $30 saying that was only the price if I added it to a haircut. No mention of anything like that during the service nor does it say that on the website when I reserved my time with my CC. It’s shown as a completely separate service. I was the only other person in the building besides another barber and customer and I waited over 10 minutes for her to come out of the back to even greet me. Then she went back to the back again for a few minutes before finally saying she was ready. Do yourself a favor and avoid this place.

Experiencia positiva: Overall, I'm a bit disappointed by my visit. I was excited to check them out as I recently moved to St. Pete and I needed a new barber. I made an appointment online for 12 and ended up waiting a bit til about 12:30 as they were a bit backed up. There were only two of them because the person who the website assigned me called off today. So the wait was no problem, because under-staffing sucks. I chose the signature haircut and beard trim. Which includes a shampoo, a haircut, hot towel, and neckline shave. It also includes a straight blade shave, hot and cold towel treatment and beard oil or skin tonic. I only received the haircut and beard trim. Which looks great. My barber was careful with my neckline as I have a few bumps that makes it hard to shave certain spots. All good so far. I got up and he saw a few marks on my neck still that he wanted to get, and was quick with trimming them up, but unfortunately hit a skin tag on my neck. I didn't know until it was bleeding in the car that it was nicked. Accidents happen, but I felt like he was quick to hurry up, and ended up nicking me because of it. I didn't receive the other services only the beard trim and haircut. But I was only charged $35. I figured I would pay at the register, but he said I could just pay on zelle. I was fine with that, but I figured I would pay the business itself. Especially when I had to input my card information to secure the appointment. If I knew I could just pay zelle, the need to input my card info felt unnecessary. It's a cool place, with great reviews, and I was expecting to be relatively "pampered." This visit was my first to determine if I would want to sign up for the other services. I really wanted this to be my pampering spot. But unfortunately, I don't think I will be back.

Experiencia negativa: Overall just disappointed. I’ve been coming here since it’s the highest rated in the area, but the last 3 cuts here have been pretty mediocre. They feel rushed and end up being poorly blended with no real attention to detail. I got my hair cut yesterday. Like come on. This is my last time coming here.

Experiencia negativa: Pretty disappointed in my experience. I went in for their Signature Cut (which I believe should’ve included a hair wash, hot towel, neck shave). The haircut portion only took a little less than 15 minutes, so when she said if I liked it, I said yes, assuming that’s when I’d get the additional services. She then proceed to say ‘great, let’s go ahead and get you checked out then’. To her credit, she did reduce the price to just a haircut, but I felt rushed out of the appointment and didn’t receive the additional services I was expecting.

Experiencia negativa: Don’t like the fact that I was sick on the weekend missed my appointment and got charged. Although I went in on Monday and paid for the haircut. So I double paid plus my kid left his stuff and I called so they can secure got told that it will be put away, the respond was the cleaning lady threw it away ! Not worth it the hassle plenty of barbershop in St Petersburg with better service to their clients. I gave it a 5 a few years ago now it’s a 1.

I am newer to St Pete and been looking for a barber shop. I highly recommend getting a haircut here! It’s gorgeous inside and staff are wonderful!

Her professional, detail-oriented, and always takes the time to make sure I leave with a perfect cut. The atmosphere in the shop is welcoming and laid-back, and Taylor really makes you feel like a valued customer. If you’re looking for a barber who truly knows her craft and takes pride in his work, I highly recommend Taylor at Uptown Barbershop!

Experiencia negativa: Update in response to owner: All that was said was I’m sorry he’s running late. I wouldn’t consider that a solution. I left because by that point, I’d have been late for my 4pm meeting if I stayed and got a cut. I wish that a solution could have been discussed during the 20 minutes I was sitting 2 ft from her desk. Instead, I had to bring it to her attention. I arrived for my scheduled 3:00pm appointment with Arthur Goode and after waiting until 3:20pm I requested my appointment be cancelled as I had prior engagements at 4:00pm. I understand running behind, but after 20 minutes maybe say something. Told front desk and they didn't seem to care. For the price, you'd hope for a bit better service. No respect for people's time, would not recommend.

Experiencia negativa: Arthur messed up my hair. It was bad bad. Would not recommend. Edit: there is no chance I'll be returning. A four inch bald spot was put on one side of the top of my head.

Experiencia negativa: Set an appointment online for 4:30 was running a little late called to let them know that I would be running late The lady on the phone was very rude asked how late I would be I told her about 5 to 10 minutes she said okay that's fine go ahead you can still come in and hung up the phone on me. Then when I got there they clearly had attitude when I walked in and I tried telling the young lady who took me back to cut my hair that when I called the lady I talked to was very rude and had an attitude and so the lady who had just started cutting my hair stopped and said if that's how I was going to be then I could just leave so apparently when your customer and you get treated in a rude manner you also have to just stay quiet about it or are you going to get kicked out of the establishment. Terrible customer service from every woman I dealt with there. Very entitled and stuck up

Kristy's dual licenses in Barbering and cosmetology combined with her experience make her the best choice in my book. She is attentive, detail oriented, and really made sure I was happy. Unlike most barbers I have gone to there were NO touch ups required. "Kristy is my girl!" I also wanted to thank Brittni my aesthetician for getting things tight with the ears and nose. I was blown away with my experience! Thank you ladies!

Experiencia negativa: Do not bring your child here. Unsure whether it was inexperience or just outright negligence. I’m going to have to get my child tested and monitored for infectious diseases after a haircut here. Everything started fine and the barber was attentive. I do not know why, but after asking me how it looked and I said it looked good, he was finishing up and decided to use clippers on my little boy’s entire neck, causing him to bleed from multiple cuts up and down his neck. My kid has been getting haircuts since he was 1.5 without irritation or incident. I went to the bathroom to wash my son’s neck with soap and water and when I came out, without asking permission the barber rubbed some powder on my son using his bare hands. Perhaps the barber isn’t experienced with kids, and he may have panicked but trying to suggest that my son’s skin is sensitive and then touching my kid after he caused him to bleed without my permission, and without washing his hands is never OK. It was complete negligence. I paid and tipped but I won’t ever go back. The photo is 10 minutes after his haircut.

Experiencia negativa: One of most expensive cuts in town. Recently raised prices again. $42 a cut for fade… not including tip. Haircuts are good, but not for most expensive in town. Went a block away and got one for 28. **In response to the owner ** just because it’s an expensive haircut… does not mean the haircut is worth the cost. I gave honest feedback and you got upset? I have not come back so your methodology is wrong for me for a simple buz cut. Does not mean it’s wrong for everyone. I want more of my money going to the barber. Not the owner. But good luck in all honesty. For employees sake… hope you can keep doors open and paying the employees. Hopefully the average haircut math range you have calculated is not the same range that is used to pay the employees who should be making more… and paid on time.

Experiencia fantástica: Brittany is my absolute favorite hair stylist I ever had. I have been wanting to grow out my hair for the longest time. The only reason I wasn't able to do it is because I couldn't find anyone that knew what to do with my hair and the process of the growth. Britney came up with styles for me that allowed me to grow my hair long and continues to do so and I absolutely love her as a stylist and a person she is awesome.

Was walking by this place looking a little homeless (because I am) and I heard 2 angelic voices calling out to me. I walked in and was instantly sat down and Stephanie started working her magic. At one point I think she brought out a weed whacker to trim the tangled bush on my face. They have all the special tools! After she gave me the fadest of fades and made my face look like a face again I was getting ready to leave and Brittni steps in. Somehow I floated to the spa room and came to rest on a table of rose petals...almost. It was a fancy room that made me miss having surgery but man was she surgical. Her 30 min facial was something created from the gods. In the words of Metallica...man, I feel like a woman. Experiencia fantástica: I’ve gotten lots of great haircuts here over the last year from different barbers, but for the last couple of months, I’ve been going to Arthur. It usually takes me a couple months of going to a barber to effectively communicate how I’d like my hair cut, but Arthur nailed it on day one. I’ve been impressed with every hair cut since then, and I see him doing the same for his other clients each time I’m in. He’s also just an all around great guy and easy to talk to. Can’t recommend Arthur enough

Experiencia fantástica: Great place for sure! What I recommend though is that yall post a picture of the barber with the name your booking with. Why? I got a beard trim and the barber is better with his style which isn't my style. He gave me his style and that takes time to recover from. I would prefer to get a beard trim from a barber who has a similar style. I won't risk this again. I will only book if I can see who is giving me a cut.

Experiencia fantástica: Honestly the best hair cut I've had and best overall experience. What a fantastic place! Professional atmosphere and friendly, professional barbers. I live in Wesley Chapel but refuse to go anywhere else. Zachary cut my hair, he trims not just efficiently but most importantly, with quality. My cut didn't take too long, which is a feat in of itself, but I am absolutely floored with how perfect it looks. I'll be honest, I'm pretty vain and while I always try to be a good customer, I have very specific needs and I feel like Zachary delivered on these both standards.

She quickly greeted us and offered beverages. It was really great! My fiancé had his hair cut by junior. He has long wavy hair and struggles to find someone who can cut it how he likes. Junior absolutely transformed his look. He is so happy and confident. I completely recommend this spot!!

Experiencia fantástica: I've been going to uptown for a few years now and I've always been very happy. Pam gives a great cut and straight razor shave and on the few occasions when I've needed service and she was not available each of the other barbers that I've used was more than capable as well and I've always left satisfied. Recently I decided to get some strategic waxing done. Brittni was awesome. We discussed my needs and then she professionally took care of them. She also gave a great pedicure. I see the folks at uptown regularly and I can tell you I'm a very happy customer.

The service was completely in a very timely manner, high quality and very skillfully in reducing the natural discomfort of waxing. I would 100% recommend her for those specialized services. Experiencia negativa: Edit to my original review since they want to say I’m a liar. (Pictures attached) 1) I called at 2:05pm. He actually arrived in your parking lot at 2:10pm. So yes, that’s the truth. 2) Majority of my reviews are great (see pic), however as I can see from your response to other reviewers this is always your comeback. 3) Your “feel sorry for my BF” comment doesn’t affect me one bit and really doesn’t look good as a response from you. My BF is newer to area and google maps unfortunately took him to wrong area (about 8 mins off) He re-routed the drive which put him in the parking lot at 2:10pm( nobody was in the parking lot) and his appointment was for 2pm. He was really excited to try this place based off reviews but unfortunately since he was exactly 10 mins behind he lost the appointment completely and they said there was no room to fit him in. They also took his $50 to book the appointment with no refunding. Really crappy service to someone that was just trying to try your place out.

Experiencia negativa: Sooo, brought my 13yr old son who’s Autistic to get haircut. The barber Author Goode messed his haircut up badly. Like, he absolutely knew the haircut was a mess. Uneven all over and hairline crazy. I asked if he could fix and he basically had attitude and told me no. Later, while trying to pay the receptionist basically ignored us. Not once ever rude. Just wanted his hair even and politely expressed that. It really sucked to come here and treated like that. Especially because my son has been battling an illness and finally been able to get out. EDIT TO ADD✨ 1. I have negative and positive reviews from many establishments☺️ 2. My son did not like his haircut and he asked Author to fix and he told him “next time” and your other employees started laughing at him. 3. I waited at your counter for 10min while being ignored by receptionist. Your business has my credit card on file, charge me if you need to. 4.Lastly, I see you just cannot accept criticism and accountability. That’s ok and thanks for your feedback to my original comment. He listened to how I wanted my cut and delivered exactly what I asked for. Art was professional & focused. The shop is clean and they even have a fridge full of complimentary drinks and I was so happy they had capri suns LOL.

Experiencia negativa: 05/17/24 update went back after my current barber is going to be out on medical leave for a few months. Perhaps I'm spoiled with my current barber. However, simple instructions.... skin fade with hair combed strait back. Skin fade fine in the front but not done well in the back. The front "bangs" area cut super short to the point that I cannot comb straight back. The beard trim was fine but used a straight razor without any sort of cream. I had to go home and use aftershave. Also, despite not getting in the chair until 15 minutes after my appointment(which isn't a bid deal) towards the end of my cut his alarms goes off and says "that is the time for the cut". he continued a few minutes after, but got the distinct impression of being rushed. I should have just waited for my barber. Drop a star for being charged wrong price again, which was the same issue i had before. They did adjust the price after i brought it to their attention. I have been going to this place for a few months. Up until my last visit i was very happy with the service. My last visit was problematic: First, the person i normally go to had left (they can't do much about that though). Second, the person they put me with put far less effort and time into my cut and beard trim. Third, the person they put me with seemed as though they were uncomfortable with a straight razor. Fourth, despite receiving a lower level of service, i was abruptly charged more for a beard trim. It was explained to me that different stylist charge different prices. Fifth, partially my fault, they normally offer to put some beard oil in after all is said and done, not this time. When all is said and done, i might go back, but only if i can't find a similar service elsewhere.

I have had my fair share of bad hair cuts, but never with Dylan. He always does a fantastic job & keeps me looking professional, clean cut, & fresh for my sales job at Pitch Roofing!

When searching for a new place, ability to book online was an absolute must. But I was also looking for a modern place that catered to men without an urban vibe. For me, the complimentary beer is not a gimmick, it was high on my list of “nice to have” features. UBB checked all of the boxes for me and the execution was perfect without having to spend 45 minutes in the chair. This will absolutely be my new place!

Arthur clicked with my son right away with a handshake/fist bump and showed him everything he was planning (cape, clippers, scissors, etc.). Experiencia fantástica: This place is amazing. Atmosphere is great and they even give you a free drink (alcoholic options available) while you have a cut. My guy Derek is the man. Always hooks me up with a fresh cut and is my favorite barber I’ve ever had. He listens to what you want and makes good recommendations for your cut. He’s a professional and I appreciate him and the uptown barber staff. Great check in clerks too, they’re always super cool and down to earth. Give this place a try if you need a new barbershop and definitely check out Derek.

Experiencia fantástica: My shy 4 year old needed a haircut so badly but was super nervous about going to a new place and having a ‘stranger’ cut his hair. Art was incredible with him. He was so gentle with getting the matted hair combed, patient, and kind. His energy won over both of my kids and my 4 year old can’t stop looking at himself in the mirror. 10/10 recommend Art for your ‘big kid’ cuts.

She knows the styles, she knows what's going to look good, and more importantly, she understands what is going to look good on you. 100% a professional who is about her business. If you want a barber who knows what's up, you go to Cathryn. Uptown Barber itself is a great spot as well. Staff are all very friendly and professional, and it's a cool spot.

Experiencia fantástica: I’ve been to over 10 barbers in Pinellas alone, and the only one I walked out of smiling was Uptown barbershop. What can I say? The prices are cheap, you get free drinks (beer included), the barbers have great personality, and most importantly, you get a damn good haircut. Arthur always does an incredible job, and has never given me a bad hair day. He’s great at all kinds of hair, and he always makes my hair the perfect length and even. I highly recommend this barber to everyone.

Experiencia fantástica: I just started getting my pedicures done at Uptown from Rachael and she is excellent in fact one of the best pedicures I have gotten. There private room is clean and a relaxing environment mixed with Rachael being very meticulous and extremely friendly! She is very passionate about her craft and it shows as she goes the extra mile(s). I mentioned a tool I liked that someone else used when doing my pedicures. When I went back yesterday to see Rachael to my surprise she bought that tool and used it on my feet. Between her and the other Rachael that cuts my hair I can't recommend Uptown Barber enough!!!
