Experiencia negativa: When someone pays for a "sensory friendly" haircut and you've never worked with the kid before, start off in a private area for the haircut. If it turns out the kid doesn't need it next time don't use it. The only thing appreciated was the patience from everyone around us. You all were kind but I wasn't impressed. There was nothing sensory friendly about that experience.

Shun did so well with my youngest sons that he fell asleep while he was cutting his hair. 10/10 will continue going back for all me and my boys haircut needs.

They absolutely love Jimmy and say he is the best barber they have ever had! You make them feel at ease talking to them the entire time and they can’t wait until they get to come back for the next cut!

Experiencia negativa: Made an appointment with Gavin Jalomo via Squire in advance for noon today. Did not expect a 30 minute wait, but I waited. When Gavin was finally available, he began to rush immediately. He grabbed the buzzers and began going to town before fully understanding what I wanted. I asked him to try and not be so rough, and explained I had a skin condition. This must have angered him, because he began to take a patronizing tone (and becoming physically rougher) as he repeatedly asked mockingly if his lighter actions were too rough, even asking with the same tone when it came to using air towards the end. He asked me if I was in the ROTC (I am 27 years old, could you imagine an actual veteran being asked this question?), and I didn't even know that he decided to cut the back of my head so short it exposed my psoriasis (he also applied aftershave to only that spot, which burned; as he was probably unaware it makes it worse and he didn't ask me for permission to apply it). Very unnecessary and incredibly unprofessional. I was charged for the haircut 13 minutes before it even began (about the time I should have initially been leaving). I am really concerned with his lack of emotional maturity, especially as this barbershop promotes a "sensory friendly" environment. Not even my mention of getting this haircut for a marriage next week prevented him from being extremely rude, rushed, and made more excuses for why he was being rushed before he informed me he was "locked in, don't worry I gotchu". If you use unprofessional language in a workplace, I immediately understand that you do not take anything seriously. Its rumored his nickname is "mad scientist", I actually just needed someone who was halfway competent at cutting hair and listening to their customers (customer service is a skill, and his is lacking). He was rough, and didn't listen to simple requests (such as don't be so rough I literally have fragile skin). This is the last time I will feel patronized for getting a simple haircut, I will do my best to pay more for someone with more experience and emotional intelligence because one year of experience in cutting hair is apparently not enough. I regret making this appointment and wasting my time for a chopped haircut, and exposing my psoriasis (due to his cutting the back of my head far shorter than necessary). This business obviously rewards walk-ins over appointments, and prioritizes as such, so I will ensure I have enough cash on hand to meet someone with more experience and a better professional temperament than what I experienced today, if I ever return at all.

Shun G. did so good with my twin 1 year olds even with them moving around he was beyond patient, and has the most amazingly quiet clippers, took his time and had the boys looking good in no time, he did my husband’s hair and beard and it was by far one of the best cuts i have ever seen on him, he made sure it was exactly what he wanted, we will definitely be coming back!

Silly me, showed up Monday and she was so gracious enough to get us right in! We had our 18 month olds first haircut here and it couldn't have gone any better! She made him so relaxed and he even got to sit on my lap the whole time to make him more comfortable. We got before and after pictures, and a lock of hair on a certificate to commemorate the occasion. Highly recommend this place to anyone! Next time, we'll come early to play in the play area before! They have tons of toys and tables for kids of all ages. Tailor Made Barber Studio is a hit and the hospitality certainly matched the awesome haircut our son got!

Experiencia fantástica: We have a severely autistic, non-verbal son who HATES haircuts. This was our first time at Tailor Made and we scheduled a sensory haircut with Shun. He exceeded any and all expectations we could have ever had for a haircut. He was patient, thoughtful, and knew how to read the situation and tailor the experience to each individual client. Our son hardly cried or moved at all and for us that was massive progress. We so appreciate Shun and his willingness to work with sensory kids and genuinely try to give them the best experience possible so they will want to come back. We will definitely be scheduling another haircut again with Shun!!

Experiencia positiva: My husband and 3 year old had appointments. Somehow the barber my husband scheduled with took a walk-in while my husband was waiting so his appointment started late. The girl that did my toddlers hair was great however she stopped mid way and went to help one of her co workers mix color… left my toddler and me sitting in the chair waiting for a while, covered in hair and as you can imagine an antsy toddler. I’m also not a fan of being charged for the services before you even arrive? I get it for no shows or cancellations but to be charged before receiving a service and not having the option to add a tip after was awkward. (Unless you knew this ahead of time and brought cash or tipped when you scheduled?) The haircuts however look great!

I asked for my son’s mullet to be thinned out, with the top shortened and the sides buzzed—but the result was far from what we wanted. The stylist cut off the length in the back without checking with me first, and by the time I noticed, it was already done. I know hair grows back, but I’m really upset—especially hoping his curls will return. Disappointed overall. Update: The company reached out and made it right. They refunded the service and let me know it was the stylist’s last day, and that his work doesn’t reflect their standards. I really appreciated their professionalism and how they handled the situation—it definitely left me feeling a lot better about the whole experience.

Experiencia negativa: Made an appointment for 11am. Got there and they told me Edward (guy who I made my appointment with) took a walk in and can’t cut my hair. “Next available time is 12pm”. So I’m supposed to wait another hour for their mistake. I walked out, won’t be coming back. “Luxury” $50 haircut appointment can’t even get scheduling right. Also the parking lot is sketchy. Edit: Response to their response. She’s saying I wasn’t respectful on the phone. I told her offering a discount isn’t enough to make me drive back hours after I already took time out of my day to make an appointment, and that I would not be going ever. Soft management.

Experiencia fantástica: Made a last-minute appointment online (their online booking appears to actually be accurate and up-to-date, which is a nice change from my previous experience with other barber shops), and got my hair cut by Cole. He was definitely a perfectionist, which I greatly appreciate in someone cutting my hair, and for the first time in a few years I didn't find myself touching up stragglers when I got home. My hair likes to lie in a lot of different directions, so that's not as trivial a feat as one might imagine. I'll definitely be going back!
