Negative experience: New guy in the left corner should go to hell for this line up/ cut. I still tipped him & gave him $40 I love everybody else in the shop but him. Took him less than 5min for this taper. He should charge $10 for this bullshit service. I will be back but not with him.

Fantastic experience: Amazing barber shop, great service, been coming here for more than 7 years. Even before it became North Start. When it used to be Mario's barbershop. All the barber specialist in all type of hair cuts, kids and adults. I would highly recommend it to at least try it once. After that you won't choose another barbershop in north Las Vegas.

Negative experience: First time going to this place, definitely not going back doesn’t look like they cleaned their clippers. The floor is covered in hair. I understand it’s a barbershop, but least you can do is clean up after your last client before sitting someone else down, don’t know the name of the guy who cut my hair, but he was in the far back corner second chair he really raw dog, the back of my neck with the razors The entire back of my neck is razor burned the fade is not even blended in

Negative experience: I have been coming here for a couple years because it’s close to me and it’s convenient but these people have no customer service. They spend the whole time talking to each other so loudly and they get distracted with their conversations. I showed my barber, Ramon a picture of exactly what I wanted and he ends up cutting my hair a lot shorter than I wanted. Why?? Because he’s distracted either talking on the phone or taking to the other barbers. This isn’t the first time he does this to me either. I’m so frustrated. It might be time to go somewhere else.

Negative experience: Waited so long unsatisfactory with the wait time, I had to leave. I have been to many barber shops across the country and on military bases and services have been fast. I think it’s stupid and BS that this place takes so so so so so long to get called up, second time coming. Most likely it will be the last time too.

Fantastic experience: The barbers are super professional and really take care of their clients. My Ex brought my 2 son’s in to get hair cuts, and didn’t tell them how to cut or style their hair. I was disappointed how their hair cuts turned out, so i brought my sons back the same day, and asked if they could please cut and style their hair differently and they gladly took both of them right away and handled it. Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming here for years, and this place is unmatched in talent and hospitality. Everyone here is skilled, and the atmosphere makes you feel right at home. I’ve had my hair cut at several places in Vegas, but in my 17 years here, this is by far the best. I highly recommend Lourdes or Mike, but honestly, you can’t go wrong with anyone. This is what a true barbershop should be!

It is under new management and but the quality of barbers and their prices is something you can't beat. I live now now in Henderson, and I drive all the way to this barbershop because I know the price is good, but most importantly, the quality of haircut is will get is hard to find. I would continue to recommend this barbershop to anyone who wants a good haircut.

My barber, Yander, is great barber who is professional, attentive and provides great service. In fact, I’ve been going to this barbershop for 15 years even through the multiple ownership changes. I can honestly say that EVERY barber there is skilled and does a great job. When my barber is unavailable, I can feel confident having any other barber take care of me without any deviation. If you are new to the area and looking for a hidden gem, North Star Barber Shop is the place. Once you form a relationship with a barber, exchange information and they will book appointment with you via text which allows you to get in the chair ON TIME. In fact, I’ve never waited longer than 10 minutes after my appointment time to get in the chair. Majority of the barbers are also bilingual and speak English. North Star Barbershop is quietly tucked away on Losee and Ann in a little strip center between Wing Stop and Roberto’s Taco Shop. Cannot recommend this shop enough! Let them know that KEITH sent you and they may expedite your service and get you on the barbers VIP list.

Negative experience: Was new to the area and stopped by and asked for a low fade and lineup and somehow I ended up with a high fade, no lineup. I told him before he was finished that that's not what I asked for but was making excuses of why my haircut looked funny. Please avoid this shop at all cost.

Negative experience: I cannot comment on the service but I am new to the area and when I called, there was ZERO customer service on the phone. I was greeted quickly and with an unwelcome tone. When I asked about pricing, the same response was given, only the price and in the same disdainful tone. Easy to decide that this is not where I would want to go simply based on that interaction. I imagine my haircut would be just as uncomfortable and unwelcoming as this short phone call inquiry.

Negative experience: The barber name Manuel he rushed on my son‘s hair. He did not listen to how we wanted his hair. He also left My Son with red bumps all on his back of his neck and behind his ear and also cut his ear. We did not realize it till after he came home and showered it is so annoying cause I still paid the man and he did it awful job. I would not recommend this place at all for anybody they are very rude

Negative experience: Highly unsatisfied. Requested a medium shadow fade (6 on top, 1 in the middle, half on the bottom) and showed an profile of myself with these measurements. The barber tried insisting I get a 3 or 4 on top, but I had to repeat myself stating I want a 6. The barber proceeded to give me less than half in the middle and skin on the bottom. I told him it was shorter than I wanted and he attempted to blend the top and the middle with no success. I also have a braid on the back of my head and a third of it is now gone because the barber was not careful with the clippers in that area. It's possible other barbers in the shop would provide better service and results, but I'm not willing to take that chance again when it comes to my hair.

Fantastic experience: Best cuts my 8 and 10 year old ever got.

Fantastic experience: Solid cut. In and out in 45 minutes, $25. I asked to make an appointment over the phone before I came in and was told that they don't do appointments. First thing said to me when I walked through the door, "Do you have an appointment?" That was strange. Also, that was the only English I heard the entire time I was there. Communication wasn't a problem but if you want a complex cut and don't speak Spanish, I could see where it might be. I got in at 8:45 am, shortly afterwards it was PACKED. Show up early, or be prepared to wait. They were all moving quickly though.

Negative experience: Horrible customer service! They talk more then they work! Walked in sat for about 15 min at no point did anybody ask if I had an appointment they just kept talking with other barbers. Had to walk out.

Negative experience: If I could I would give this place 0 stars. I waited over an hr for a haircut and ended leaving before they got to me. There was no one else in front of me and the kept skipping over me. I also saw the same barber botch two separate peoples hair cut. I would avoid this place.

Negative experience: If you are LGBTQ+ or have respect for others, stay away from this place. I walked out of there on my fourth and final visit after witnessing the most tragic display of homophobia by the barbers. They shouted disrespectful comments in Spanish amongst each other without any regard for the respect of their clients. They also don't welcome you at the door, they don't tell you where the sign up sheet is on your first day, and they mock you when you don't understand what they are saying. It is disappointing, especially since their work is actually good. But their customer service has been poor since day one. Fortunately, there are other good barbershops where I will take my money and large tips.

Positive experience: I forgot the Barbers name but was in the back right. Simple cut shaved head and beard line up. 45 bucks. This place is cash only.

Negative experience: I told him that I had a pimple on my head and told him to watch out for it, but he didn’t care and cut it off and it was bleeding very badly and he wasn’t paying attention when he was cutting my hair he was mostly eating food I’m never going back to his place ever again and no one should.

Positive experience: Descent place to get a haircut for $25. A lot of places are charging $30-50 and are not as good as this place. That being said, I know there are cheaper places out there...but they may not cut as good as this place.

Positive experience: Great cut, i WILL come back. My barber was very good and made sure i was happy. Upbeat reggaeton Cuban atmosphere. I was warmly greeted when i walked in and asked if i had an appointment. I did not. A sign in sheet is hung on the bathroom door, at the front of the shop, with a pen attached. There must be a better location for the sign in sheet. The bathroom door opens outward, if you are signing your name on the sheet on the door, and the door opens, the sign in sheet and door will hit you. Pro Tip: sign in quickly. My wait was about 20 minutes, give or take. Normal. If you are a walk-in customer, expect to wait as this barbershop is very popular, and with good reason. Depending on the time of day, parking can be a bit of a pain, but not impossible. There is an ATM located inside (normal ATM fees apply, approx. $3.50?). There is a bathroom for customers only. Appointments are highly recommended.

I would say if you can get an appointment in on the weekends you should do that. It's a busy shop on the weekends (the only time I go) it's a nice clean shop. They're are CASH ONLY. They got atm in the shop. Also I don’t really speak Spanish and my barber doesn’t speak much English but I showed him a picture of what I wanted and he did it even better! God bless that man!
