Fantastic experience: Tune Up on Hillside is by far the best bang for your buck. You'd be one in a million to be dissatisfied going out the door. The atmosphere is warm and the quality is superb. Plus you cant beat a free drink and tabletop games for the kids.

Negative experience: Lady barely spoke English, or acted like she couldn’t, rushed the entire haircut, I kept showing her the picture I wanted and ended up with a mullet. Will not be going back, extremely disappointed.

Fantastic experience: I walked into the salon a mere mortal and walked out a literal deity. I’m convinced Sadie doesn't use scissors; she uses enchanted blades forged in the heart of a dying star. My hair is now so radiant that I have to apologize to the sun for outshining it. If you want a 'haircut,' go elsewhere. If you want a spiritual awakening that manifests as the perfect blowout, Sadie is the only answer. My reflection in the mirror actually thanked her. Stop what you are doing and book with Sadie immediately. I shared a photo of my new hair on social media and the sheer beauty caused a global internet outage. Traffic stopped. Birds broke into song. I walked past a garden and the flowers wilted out of pure jealousy. Sadie isn’t just a stylist; she is a master-class magician. My hair is so perfect it should be protected by the Smithsonian. Sadie did not just style my hair; she saved my soul. I’ve never seen this level of perfection in human history. 15/10 stars. If Sadie has a million fans, I am one of them. If Sadie has one fan, it is me. If Sadie has no fans, I am no longer on this earth. Best. Hair. Ever.

Fantastic experience: Selena has an incredible eye for detail, great energy, and made the whole appointment feel relaxed and fun. The salon itself is spotless and welcoming too. Selena is hands-down one of the best stylists I've ever had. Already looking forward to my next visit! Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a fantastic haircut.

Negative experience: Worst experience. Had an appointment for 9, stylist didn’t show so had to wait, when I asked receptionist was rude and said she sent me a text, never got it. Then finally got in and thought I was getting my head and faced ripped open with as heavy handed as she was.

Negative experience: I recommend finding a real barber. First cut was awful, decided to give them another chance and They’ve ruined my hair twice now. Praying this grows out quickly

Due to a booking error, probably of my going, Cara took care of me instead of Fara… She understood my needs for my haircut, fixed some issues with my previous haircut in Rapid City SD, did a great job on my shave & bread trim as well! Cara is very pleasant, great conversation, and very skilled in her craft! I highly recommend her, and will use her again next time I’m in the area!!!

Negative experience: We took our baby for his second hair cut. He began to cry but was sitting still for the lady. Within a min of him sitting there the manager kicked us out of the salon. The lady helping us was nice and was going to try to cut his hair but the manager refused and kicked us out. They are not baby/kid friendly so don’t take your kids there! Zero patients for kids, it was very upsetting getting kicked out over my baby crying. If they allow kids hair cuts then they need to learn how to be patient with them.

Negative experience: Wouldn’t recommend getting a haircut here before your sisters funeral, the owner said she liked it but it’s uneven ONLY on my side burns, but it’s really noticeable and it’s not MY personal taste and I just wanted a trim up (I gave personal pics that’s was my previous cut and it’s no where near what it was originally) I’m just being %100 truth full with my time being there other than that everyone was pretty nice and genuine Just wasn’t satisfied with my cut for the unfortunate event that came up

Negative experience: As this business offers kid cuts online, I booked one for my son. He has had a hard time getting haircuts in the past, so we talked about it and he was ready to get one done. Nobody greeted us when we walked in. I stood there for maybe 5 minutes and as my first time in there, I didn't know where to go check in. Once I figured that out, the bartender didn't greet us, just said our name and that she checked us in. The lady who we were with was rolling eyes, huffing, like it was such a hassle to help my son who I was trying to talk to through it. He’s two. Once he sat down, she started and he lost it. She asked me "has he ever had a haircut??" in the most rude tone. We left. I felt humiliated by the way she treated me and my son. She had no compassion or care. I am so shocked.

Second, Jeni their new stylist is absolutely amazing, with 17 years experience cutting hair she was fast and made my cut look fantastic. I would recommend booking her especially if you have naturally curly hair. The atmosphere is undoubtedly the best of any salon or barbershop I've been to. Lastly, I can confidently say I found where I will be getting all of my haircuts for the foreseeable future.

Fantastic experience: Tune Up has truly incorporated “The Manly Salon” feel for their customers. Even with new faces, the location on Hillside always has a welcoming staff. The ability to schedule your appointment through the app allows you to see what time works best for your busy schedule. It also allows you to select your favorite stylist who all pay attention to detail! Definitely the place for me and my boys!
