Negative experience: Spent $20 on a beard trim that took 5 minutes, which would be fine except when I got home and got a closer look in the mirror I realized my mustache was left much longer on one side than the other, and it was lined up very crooked. I had to fix it myself, which stings after spending $20.

Fantastic experience: Booked an appointment with Lacy for my boyfriend’s haircut. Sports clips botched his hair the last time and she did a PERFECT job at making the vision come true with what we had to work with. The haircut was great and the staff/atmosphere was too. Not to mention the complimentary drink while we waited… we will definitely be coming back!

Negative experience: Whatever you do, don’t listen to the receptionist. If you want a haircut and they book you for a “line up” which is 15 mins of them doing absolutely nothing althat costs 20$ absurdly, then this is the place for you!

Fantastic experience: Can’t say enough about this place. Incredible dude, incredible place. I have a barber about an hour and a half away that had to cancel on me on NYE. I requested an appointment with Michael at 6:30pm with no knowledge they closed at 5pm for the holiday. I showed up and he gave me the best cut that I’ve had in my 30 years. He gave me some pointers on styling and was sitting there with a smile when we came in. My only regret with this place is that I don’t live in Pittsburgh to come here weekly. Simply Incredible

I have been going there for over a year and have always been very happy with my haircuts. I go to Zack Dean and he is awesome. Fantastic experience: I've been going to Mister for about ten years and there is no substitute. I can always rely on their services for a consistent look and they are nothing but the friendliest and most professional people, particularly Michael and Zack who have been the only guys to cut my hair for years. There really is nothing more to say other than you won't find a better place to get your hair cut. Truly exceptional establishment

Positive experience: I rarely write a review unless something related to professional manners. I am a frequent customer here and generally, I really do enjoy going here for my haircut and would highly recommend to anyone. I usually make an appointment with Anthony. He's been super friendly and my go-to person. I also want to try other crew members here as well because I have seen their work from being there. Jason is also another great guy that I'd like to go back again. However, today was different. I had an appointment with Jess. When I got to her station, the vibe was just different. I was trying to describe what I wanted to get done and her condescending and judgemental attitude really threw me off because I had great. interactions with other members. And the whole thing felt rushed compared to other appointments I previously had.

Negative experience: Terrible service. They have no clue how to do a basic hair cut and shave. These pictures are after a $66 haircut and shave. The dude (Jessie) had no clue what symmetry was and this was after I paid for a straight razor shave! I can do better with an electric razor. My wife asked me if I left mid shave because of all the hairs. I will never go back to this place. I felt embarrassed ask the barber to redo his work, and what I asked for was basic haircut with a nice clean shave. Instead I got 10 hot towels and a terrible (unacceptable) shave. A professional shave can't be worse than what I could do myself!!! What a waste of $70 and 1.5 hrs.

Negative experience: *this review is regarding my experience with a barber* PRO: When I lived in Pittsburgh, I got recommendations to checkout Mister Grooming & Goods. I was pretty eager to go there. The booking experience (texting) and the back & forth with the front desk staff were seamless. When I got to the shop, the staff at the front desk was friendly, but my experience quickly went downhill when I started getting my haircut from Jess. CON: It can always be nerve-wracking to go to a new barber, so making a connection can be important (i.e. listening to the customer, asking for feedback throughout the haircut, and making adjustments as needed), but Jess' lack of attention to detail, her seemingly reluctance to be there, and ultimately cutting the sides way too short made me disappointed in my experience at the shop. I get that people may have bad days, and I'll give her the benefit of the doubt, but I left feeling uncomfortable.

Positive experience: This is a local barber shop right on Butler Street. The prices are fair, you get a haircut, a straight edge shave and a wash. The ambience is eclectic and unique. The staff are friendly and scheduling is super easy, though they frequently book 2 weeks out.

Negative experience: High hopes for this barber shop, but let down in many ways. I asked for a thick line to be cut in, and walked out frustrated because the stylist barely put one in after multiple asks. Attention to detail was not there as there was a poor job blending the top with my right side. I'll go elsewhere for $35.

Positive experience: Friendly staff. Took my elderly Father there for a shave and cut. $62 is astronomical and frankly insulting. I hope they continue on as they're all nice people, but I'll never use again and in no way is the cut/shave worth the price.

Negative experience: Felt rushed , as much as I paid for a haircut and a bread trim 44 dollars and a tip , I still have to go home and trim my bread and reshape , my neck patches are everywhere, I’ve paid a third less and got a way better cut and trim . Maybe spend some money for a hand held mirror so you can see it closer instead of from a distance . A rushed haircut and trim isn’t good . Don’t think it was the barber as much as it is the shops fault to be rushed . Got my haircut in 50 states and must say I didn’t see this coming to say top 1 for price and #5 worst hair cut as I said not the barbers it’s the shop . Here is example of quantity over quality. Maybe cus I wasn’t a regular..usually after a cut I feel like a new man but not this time I felt off and incomplete … Rated #1 worst cut in Pittsburgh

The shop itself is incredibly decorated, and the staff are super nice and accommodating. My last visit they offered beverages while customers waited. Jason is the absolute best and wouldn’t have anyone else cut my hair.

Negative experience: We brought our son in for a haircut today. Both he and I made it clear that he wanted to keep the length of his hair on top (it was quite long). Our barber said that keeping it long on top would require styling it when paired with short back and sides. We agreed with this. I stepped outside to wait, and when I walked back in, his hair was cut to only a few inches on top. It is only hair, of course, and will eventually grow back, but the disregard of our request was very disappointing. I expected more attention to the wishes of the customer from Mister Grooming and will not be returning.

Environment full of fun and grange-art objects makes eye searching enjoyable while conversation with your barber keeps your mind away from daily routine. Mr G&G perfectly reflects hipster vibes of Lawrenceville neighborhiood of Pittsburgh. Highly recommend! Been there twice, will come back again shortly! FYI Anti-COVID-19 precautions by stuff are second to none and booking service with text message notifications are super convenient. Very well done Mr G&G!

Fantastic experience: This is my most favorite place ever to get a haircut! The shop is thoroughly decorated with tons interesting stuff but is always very professional and clean at all the haircut stations. I've been coming here for every haircut as long as I've been in Pittsburgh (~6 years). Zack Dean is the best and he'll hook you up with a nice cut! In this part of the city, street parking is super easy and free on the unmetered side streets. They're always busy (for good reason!) so make sure to call and set up an appointment before your first time.

They offer a drink but I was a little unsure as to if they were offering me water or wanted me to buy alcohol or something. Took a long time for them to reply to my text to schedule.
