Fantastic experience: From the moment I walked in, I felt welcome. Gabrielle served me a whisky and we had a fun conversation. Malvin (a true professional of his craft came out front to bring me back, took a few minutes to understand what style I was looking for and we were off to the clippers. I’ve been bouncing between shops for the last three months since my previous barber retired. I think I found my new home!

Negative experience: I really wanted to like Scissors & Scotch after seeing recommendations. I kept going back because of all the great reviews, thinking maybe I just hit an off day or the wrong barber. After enough visits, I realized it wasn’t just a one time thing (at least for me). The membership is basically part of the deal here. This isn’t a place you just walk into casually for a haircut now and then. It is positioned as a monthly service, so you are committing to that $50 plus tip on a regular basis. That sets a certain expectation right out of the gate. Most of my haircuts were… fine. Not bad, not great. Just fine. The kind where you look in the mirror and think, “It’ll do,” but you are not walking out feeling sharp or confident. For a place that gets described as amazing or even life changing, that gap stood out every single time. The biggest issue was consistency. It really depended on which barber you got. Some were clearly skilled and took their time. Others felt rushed or disengaged. I had one visit where everything looked clean and put together, then the next visit felt like a completely different standard. There were a few moments that pushed things over the edge for me. I had appointments run so late that I had to leave because I could not wait any longer. I had shampoos that felt rushed and half done. At this price point, those are not small things. They are part of what you are paying for. That is really what it comes down to. A haircut is a basic service. It should not feel like a gamble every time you sit down. When you are locked into a monthly model, you expect reliability. That just was not my experience. The concept is cool. The drinks, the atmosphere, the whole experience angle. I understand the appeal. But I would trade all of that for a consistently great haircut without hesitation. That is the core service, and it should come first. To their credit, management has always been responsive and willing to try to fix things. But after a while, apologies and credits do not solve the bigger issue. If anything, the problems started to feel more frequent, not less. In the end, I canceled my membership. Not because of one bad visit, but because of a pattern. I was paying a premium every month for something that should be simple and dependable. I have had equal or better haircuts at places like Floyd’s for a lot less, without the commitment. I do not think this place is terrible. I just think it has lost consistency, and that matters a lot when you are paying for a monthly service. At the end of the day, I just wanted to walk out feeling great about my haircut. That never really happened here.

Fantastic experience: Lacey did an amazing job! I went in looking pretty rough and left feeling great. The bar fusion, and apparently you can swing back in if you dont want to drink it for a morning cut.

You can typically get them to make anything. The membership definitely pays off. I was the last haircut of the day.. I was still treated as a first customer. Dre. And nik we awesome. Get your haircut here. 11/11/25... Still great place. They still want to hear my bad jokes. Im talking raunchy jokes. .. example... what do you call a sleeping cow? Fantastic experience: I've been going to Scissors in Scotch for the last 6 months and I couldn't be happier. The bar staff are all amazing and my stylist, Amber, is one of the best I've ever had cut my hair. Every time I come home my wife is always complimenting me on how good it looks. The specialty drinks at the bar are always very delicious and the bartenders are knowledgeable and can make just about anything you'd like.

I got a terrible haircut years ago, and tried 4-5 different places before I found S&S. No one could fix it. S&S? They fixed it in one go and have kept me looking fantastic every time since.

Fantastic experience: I have been looking for a new place to get my haircut since my old barber retired and scissors and scotch is amazing. It’s a wonderful atmosphere and style. Not only did amber do a great job on my cut, but the whole feel of going in is just incredible. It almost feels like going to a spa. You don’t just rush in and out with a quick haircut. It’s relaxing and you get to have an experience vs just a service. It’s a great place.

Negative experience: Drove 1.5 hours to get a haircut and was told I wasn’t booked in the system (although I was rebooked yesterday) turns out I was booked wrong and someone could book over top of my time? So instead they wanted me to stick around 3 hours later to get a haircut. Needed the cut TODAY. First haircut was subpar, but the drink was a nice touch!

Fantastic experience: Tonight was my first time at Scissors and Scotch and I could not recommend it more. After moving to Fort Collins just a few months ago, it’s been difficult to find a cut at a reasonable price and good quality. This was the best combination of both! I’ve been getting my haircut for decades at salons and when a friend recommended this place, I figured it could hurt to try it out. Casey was friendly, kind and extremely knowledgeable. He walked me through step-by-step with his thought process and checked in with me along the way to ensure we both had a clear understanding before he started cutting. Casey has a calm and kind demeanor and made me feel very comfortable. The over all vibe of the shop was very cool and the free drink at the bar (included with my cut) made the entire process feel like self-care and was a breath of fresh air after a long day at the office.

I would say be a little more descriptive as to the services offered on the website. I just a chose what I thought was close but didn’t feel confident about what I chose. I got a head shave and beard trim and shape. For both of those it was over a $100.

Negative experience: Decided to place a review on this place after being about the cut I was given. Nice idea for a barber shop and all. I Had really high hopes of a quality cut given the cost, but in reality I was given just a lousy uneven amateurish hair cut. A stylist can make or break a place and my stylist ruined things for me- can’t remember her name but she had green and purple accents in her hair. While cutting my hair she verbally ripped on other places and how in her own words made it seem I was simply so SO lucky to have her cutting my hair stating how she was almost OCD about cutting hair. Sounds great right?? But the hair cut ended up very uneven and horribly ragged, one side was short while the other was noticeably longer, I could tell right away - it was just so bad I couldn’t say anything. I have had a few bad cuts before in my life and have ended up damn near scalped or crew cut as they try to “fix” the crappy cut they did so with those past experiences in mind I politely said “I think we are done”, and got out of the chair, had my “free” drink and left. When I got home my wife said jokingly “I hope the scotch was worth it because that cut isn’t!!! Let’s not go back to that place!” I let my hair grow out for 3 weeks and went to a certified barber at Floyds on College and she got everything back in shape, a well done cut for much less and so much quicker as well. No more “Scotch” for me!
