Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Diesel Barbershop ever since moving to Jacksonville. As fate would have it, I was placed in the very capable hands of my stylist, Heaven. Every time I come in, I sit in her chair and ask, “What do you think we should do?” She executes flawlessly every time. I trust Heaven, and Heaven trusts me.

Fantastic experience: Took my 3 year old nephew in after a not so great cut from elsewhere. I'll be honest, I thought I'd have to just settle for a buzz cut until it grew in. Thank goodness for TONY, he went straight to work and was quick but careful and gave him such a nice, fresh cut. I was thoroughly impressed. The owner and the rest of the staff were all great as well, super helpful and did everything to make sure we walked out happy. Will definitely be returning. Thank you Tony!

Fantastic experience: I’ve been getting my cuts from Heaven for a good while now, and I have nothing but positive things to say about her and the overall place. Always treated with top notch service, super fun environment. I’ve tried multiple different things with my hair time and time again, and each time Heaven has done exactly what I’ve wanted. Fantastic experience: First time getting my haircut at Diesel and will definitely NOT be my last! I went in with an open mind and had absolutely no clue what I wanted. I sat down with Heaven and told her to do whatever her heart desired and she did not disappoint! Along with her be very professional and kind, she truly seemed like she loved being there which was really shown in my haircut. I will definitely be back, can’t wait to see what else she can do!

Negative experience: Update: Now that my son washed his hair and we have had time to look at it, even the cut was not good. The left side is very chopped looking and the right looks great. I would add pictures but that is not an option for some reason. Will now have to pay another stylist to correct this cut. My son washed first person in the shop, so can’t even say Heaven had more clients waiting which made her feel rushed. So very disappointed in this entire experience. My son had an appointment for a “Diesel Plus” experience which is supposed to include a shampoo, haircut, scalp & shoulder massage, neck shave and hot towel treatment… he was in and out of the chair in about 10 minutes and came to the register with Heaven (the stylist). Heaven told me the total was $45. I asked my son if he got a shampoo he said no. Heaven stated that she wanted to cut it dry to see how it lay. I understand that as I get that sometimes too, however my stylist always shampoos and dries after to see how the cut lays. Heaven, however, never offered my son a shampoo, or the other parts of the “Diesel Plus” package. Then once she could tell I was upset for her charging me full price for services she did not offer nor perform, she offered to take him back to shampoo him so I “wasn’t leaving upset”. When I said it was too late to offer to shampoo him now, and she wasn’t offering to complete the other services anyway, she eventually offered to knock $5 off the total price. The point is she wanted to charge full price for services she didn’t perform. Had she offered my son all the services and he refused, that would be a different story. Heaven could have been honest and up front about it all and said “hey, I know you booked the “diesel plus” but I only wanted to dry cut and not do their other services in the package, so I’m going to charge you less” That would have been perfectly acceptable. Instead she thought she could do a portion of the service and charge full price without a word. I will say my husband loves the location at St John’s Town Center and always gets what he pays for.

Negative experience: There should be a refund... $45 for this haircut that didn't even cut properly, they left me with hair, I still had to shave when I got home

Fantastic experience: Heaven is hands down the best stylist I’ve ever had. She’s skilled, professional, and consistent, listens and pays attention to detail. What truly sets Heaven apart is that she remembers personal details from our past conversations, which makes every visit feel welcoming and genuinely personal. I always leave feeling confident and taken care of, and I wouldn’t go to anyone else. I highly recommend Heaven.

Negative experience: Not good customer service, very expensive. I was charged $70 for a cut

Fantastic experience: First time stopping in at Diesel. Booked my appointment on line, walked right in. Heaven did an excellent job. Showed her picture of what i wanted and she nailed it. She was very nice and super friendly. Definitely will be back.

Negative experience: *1 year later updated review from a 5 star If you would've asked me a year ago I would've told you this place has the best barbers in the area. They've all left and gone to other places. It's really declined in the last year with the quality of the barbers, which is really disappointing as a person who used to enjoy going to this barbershop. Don't get to your appointment early or on time here because you'll wait another 15-20 minutes to get to the chair. I watched three people with appointments on the board leave and it's been the case every time I've gone in the past year. Also, don't pick the haircut option you want online when you book as they won't do it or even ask you if you want it during the haircut. You'll get to the register and charge you for that option even though they didn't give you the option you chose online even after you tell them they didn't give you that service. For the price, the service absolutely is lacking.

Negative experience: Horrible front desk. Horrible communication. Waited over an hour and a half for a cut with Tony. Was told I was next. Than got skipped by an appointment. Horrible. I’ve never seen something like that. Only good thing is Tony. Front desk lady sucks as well as the other guy running the front. Lost all my future business.

Fantastic experience: Heaven is a true professional. She can handle any style and knows her stuff, but honestly its the quality and attention to detail is why I only go see her. Highly recommend.

Fantastic experience: I’ve had Heaven twice now and I won’t be switching anytime soon. She does a phenomenal job and is so friendly! If you want a great & consistent cut she’s your girl.

Negative experience: Disappointing Cut & Ignored Instructions I came in asking for a simple clean up: over the ears, rounded in the back, and SCISSORS ONLY / no clippers (learned my hair doesn't do well with clipper cuts over the years). About halfway through the barber asked if he could "run through the sides with a long guard to make sure they're all the same length." I agreed, assuming a truly LONG guard given my clear request for scissor cut only. Instead, he went straight to my temple with a (believe it was) 3 guard. Based on one google search, this is a buzz cut length guard. It was WAY shorter than discussed after asking for a simple scissor only clean up. Now both sides are buzzed and the top is barely trimmed. The icing on the cake is he missed my part (that I showed him twice) by about a half inch to an inch, leaving full-length strands hanging awkwardly over the buzzed sides. What should have been a 15 minute light trim turned into the worst haircut I've had in years. Icing on the cake: NO straight razor neck shave, NO shampoo, NO hot towel, etc. Why in the world was it advertised to include all of these things? Seems like quite a bait and switch, wouldn't recommend going here.

Fantastic experience: Just moved to the area, and I am very meticulous about who cuts my hair. Heaven did such an amazing job and understood exactly what I wanted for a style and cut. She is very professional and even remembered me on my second appointment. She is very personable and makes you feel like she's been cutting your hair for years. I have truly found my new barbershop for years to come.

But I just found out he is no longer employed there so I was wondering if I could get any information about where he might be working now that he’s moved on.

Fantastic experience: Drove all the way here with my special needs autistic 7 year old to see Dev, his usual hairstylist. She is known for being MAGICAL with children with special needs. She is the ONLY person that gets my son comfortable and actual lets her buzz his hair off. She worked magic as always. The shop was overall very friendly and welcoming

Negative experience: I made an appointment with Heaven since the last barber we booked with no longer works here. Heaven rushed my son’s haircut and didn’t even bother blending the sides. She tried charging extra for things that are already part of the haircut. It is a barber’s job to make their customers feel comfortable enough to speak up if they don’t like something. However, Heaven was rude and dismissive. Now, my son has to deal with this haircut after wasting his money. This is not our first time here, however, it will definitely be our last.

Positive experience: You can get the same half way decent haircut across the street for 1/2 the price. Go somewhere with actual barbers for a real haircut. They nickel and dime already insanely expensive haircuts. They charged me extra because what I wanted “takes longer” and they’re still done in 10 minutes and it still wasn’t what I was expecting. I don’t think that’s this locations fault. They’re following their corporates garbage pricing model. As far as this location goes, my haircut was not what I wanted the last 2 visits. I didn’t complain because it’s just hair and it’ll grow back but I won’t be coming back here. I always feel like I got robbed every visit but it’s close and convenient so I kept trying to justify it. I gave 3 stars instead of 2 because they’re friendly enough, the shop is clean and they explained the issue to me and offered $5 off the next service. That’s nice and all but that still doesn’t make it worth it. I’ll go local from now on.

Fantastic experience: Heaven is so great with my boys! I took my 8 year old and 2 year old here and this was the FIRST time my 2 year old hadn't cried while getting his hair cut! I think it was a mix of his paw patrol "cape", the video games, the Capri sun, the cool art on the walls, the stickers and lollipops, and of course the fantastic Heaven!

Negative experience: Did not shampoo. The lady was fairly miserable. Did not cut hair the way I’d asked. Haircut looks like my mom did it. Waste of $40 edit: was looking closer at website. I didn’t even know I should have been expecting a neck massage. So, no shampoo, no massage, put hot towel on the back of my neck though, sort of. More like on top of the towel she had placed there. But every time I look in the mirror I resent having spent my money there. I won’t be back even if you offered my next one free. This was on May 15 around 2-3pm. The lady who cut my hair was 2nd or third chair on the left.

Fantastic experience: Hannah gave me a great relatable conversation,I prefer Spanish barber shops for my hair type but Hannah did an amazing job on my fade and style and I'll be coming back for sure

Negative experience: I love supporting local but $50 for a kids hair cut means you never get my business again and you get 2 stars. Why do barbers think this is the first haircut a person has ever gotten and they don’t know the prices! No shampoo, no razor, strictly a cut that took exactly 32minutes! The shop looks amazing with a ton of chairs, I counted at least 8 chairs with 3 barbers, which is why it gets 2 stars and not 1, their customer service was great too asking if we would like a drink etc. But the cut is the same cut my son gets at the $25 barber 20 minutes away. Except I had to ask him to fix an area. We live close by so we wanted to give them a try. Sadly that’s the last time they’ll get my business and I get a cut every 3 weeks, so they truly lost a lot of money with me!

Negative experience: I normally don’t give bad reviews. But I have a bad experience with this barbershop. I booked on line for full service. My barber was Hanna. She arrived over 10 minute late but I waited anyway. It was pleasant talking to her so I give her tip before I left. By the time I get home to check my hair cut. It’s not as good as I thought it was. The cut is a bit sloppy. That would have been fine. But I didn’t realize she cut my head open with a razor knife about 1” wide with the knife on top of my head where she did the hard line. I felt my head was wet. Touching the top and it was all bloody when I get home. For the next few days of showering I have to be carful each time shampoo it would hurt or open up the cuts again. Her razor skills is horrible. After all this to be honest not only was she late she did a rush job. The barber next to me was cutting way before she arrived and she finished before him. I spend $90 including tip. Don’t even think it’s worth full service. I’ll Never return again

Negative experience: My 16 year old went in today, they didn’t offer him the hot towel or the massage, 2 other people had to come over and help Heaven fix his hair and line it up. I feel like he only received half of what we paid for, he’s not satisfied with his cut, Heaven explained to him that she doesn’t know how to cut ethnic textured hair. He was dropped off and didn’t feel comfortable speaking up for himself, my card was on file, then she told him to call his mother about the tip. I find this very unprofessional. I have no issues tipping but telling him to call is unprofessional to me. When I called, they said they had other appointments so they couldn’t put him back in the chair to fix his cut. We will not go back, I don’t recommend

Fantastic experience: Heaven is by far the best stylist i have found in the St Johns area. Does a great job, has a wonderful personality and even got me to change my hair style (which i had for years) when i complained i was bored with my hair and everyone seems to like it her way better. She will be my only stylist unless she leaves the area. Thanks so much!

Negative experience: Drove way out the way excited to check this place out and they were closed 2 hours early without any updates or reasons why. Will NEVER waste the time to come back!!! UPDATE: I don’t know how to reply to your reply but I was at the 155 Bartram Market Dr Ste 114, Jacksonville, FL 32259 location at exactly 6:10pm on 1-7-25 and on google it said you closed at 8pm and the door also said the same. At EXACTLY 6:10pm the door was locked and ALL the lights were off and no one was in the building so I guess I was in the wrong.

Fantastic experience: *** I am editing this because the manager absolutely made this right. I just talked to my sister and he was able to connect with her. Mike the owner was able to get this rectified and I very much appreciate the time he took to do so. He was incredibly helpful to her and able to get us a gift certificate for my brother in law in time for Christmas by personally dropping it off. Thank you Mike much appreciated I can’t give an opinion on the actual services provided because unfortunately I wasn’t able to have anyone experience them… my sister went in today to try and get a gift card for my brother in law for me because I’m out of state, they just recently had a baby and I thought a nice shave and cut might be perfect for him as a Christmas gift… but no one knew how to process the sale of a gift card apparently. The woman trying to help her kept giving her other options such as driving to another location except THAT location is 45 min drive from where they are at! In addition another barber says “just have her go online” ok well I tried that initially… of course you know trying to avoid having my sister make unnecessary trips and guess what?! You CAN’T buy one online! It says it’s in-store purchases only. Sooo needless to say just really crappy, I get it 2 days before a Christmas probably don’t care much but that was really disappointing.

Positive experience: My husband gets his beard cut here every now and then. I would give Pedro 5 stars, but because my husband has had now a couple bad experiences with other stylists, we give diesel as a whole 3 stars. He just left an appointment with a different stylist - asked for a beard trim & walked out with most of his beard gone. If you are going for anything beard related, we would not recommend going to anyone other than Pedro.

Fantastic experience: This barber shop never fails to surprise me. I was cut by mario who will most definitely be my go to barber in this shop. Was very thorough and you can tell he loves what he does.

Fantastic experience: Great cut by an easy going guy(Mario). One of the better medium skin fades I’ve had in Jax area. Diesel barbershop easily the best spot for a fade in Silverleaf area. Nothing against supercuts, hair cutlery or V’s, but in Silverleaf this is the best spot over the rest hands down.

Fantastic experience: Came in for a skin fade and Jose took great care of me. He’s quick and accurate with everything he did, and the fade came out perfect the way I wanted it.

Fantastic experience: Jose was awesome. Did exactly what I asked for and was very organized and professional throughout the entire haircut. If you’re in St John’s you should be coming here for a haircut.

Negative experience: Stay away from this ridiculous place. I wish I could give them 0 stars. Look at the picture attached. This sign is on their front desk, but it seems these ridiculous people have no idea what it means. I made a reservation with my credit card for my son and received confirmation for 6 PM. When we arrived at 5:55 PM, they told us to wait an additional 30 minutes. Okay, fine. We were sitting there, and they continued to take people who arrived after us. After waiting for 40 minutes, they took yet another person who arrived after us, so we decided to leave. Highly disappointed. 0 stars.
