The atmosphere is a true Barbara Shop feel and the cuts are on point every time! Booking online is extremely easy and seamless. Fantastic experience: I’ve been to Handsome Fellows Barbershop now for going on a decade. Branden always cuts my hair and I wouldn’t have it any other way. I usually go with a haircut but I’ve had the nose wax service and beard trim if I’m feeling saucy. Lucky to have found this place when I first moved here my hair has looked great ever since.

Negative experience: Their haircutting and beard trimming skills are on par but they're just so smirky and smarmy. I don't understand where they get off with having that superior attitude, crap talking customers like they do. Are the aware that they cut hair for a living? Is that why they feel the need pretend to be all manly and stuff? Seems a bit insecure. Must be a generational thing. Gave them a second chance already with a different barber, no more chances.

Fantastic experience: Received my second haircut from Michael today, and I can confirm the man knows hair. Totally nailed what I was looking for the first time. Not only does the cut look good coming out of the shop, it also held up to the initial look for about 4 weeks, which is far beyond my normal experience with a haircut. My advice is to book him for your cuts if you can, when you can.

Fantastic experience: After floating to different places in search of a true professional barbershop I landed here and have been coming back for about a year. I have been coming to Michael B. and his fade is really a work of art. You can tell he takes pride in the craftsmanship of his work, and the attention to detail is on another level than anywhere I have encountered. These haircuts are like a tailored fitted suit vs something off the rack at large commercial shops. You can tell he is well trained and experienced and will take the time to get it perfect - and from observation it appears the entire staff is this way. It’s a unique dichotomy - the atmosphere is laid back and comfortable but the haircuts are serious and professional. He also cut my 3 year old sons hair and it looks great as well.

Positive experience: In the past I’ve had a great hair cut here, but I just got one done with Micheal and it was terrible. My hair is curly so I told him to cut it so that when it curls up it’s just above my eyes, but he cut it so that when I pull it straight it is right at my eye brows. He did a terrible job, I highly recommend anyone else there, that isnt Micheal, the rest do a good job.

Negative experience: This is a horrible place these people have no respect for their clients and will cancel your appointment that day after you waited 3 weeks. If your late 5 min they will take your money and not give you a hair cut. When you call them they don’t answer. And on top of that say that your lying and start yelling at you out side the store.

Negative experience: Unfortunately, I never had an opportunity to get a haircut so I can’t review the actual haircut. Went online to book an appointment originally scheduled my appointment on January 30 for February 19 got confirmation of the appointment and then the morning of got notification at 4:36 am. that my appointment had been canceled, and then I needed to re-book my appointment via their online system. I did not get an offer to meet with another barber. When I went online to book another appointment with any available barber for an evening appointment. It was more than four weeks out. Nobody answers the phone, so my review is limited to the online and automated text messaging that I have received. I guess they are so busy having an actual person to speak with and customer service is low on their priorities.

Fantastic experience: I always get a good haircut here. The people are always very nice and it's a nice atmosphere too. My only complaint is that the prices seem egregiously high, but it's like that anywhere. Just expect to pay $30+ for a haircut. Other than that this is a great place for haircuts.

Fantastic experience: Great experience. I’ve been here twice since switching from another place in Middletown. It’s reasonably priced, has great barbers/stylists and it’s easy to book your time and barber online. It’s obviously run by someone’s that’s a class act.

Negative experience: Will not be returning. I took a chance on this spot because my regular barber was unavailable this week. I am in the entertainment industry and have a handlebar mustache and beard which is integral to my brand image. I told the barber not to touch my mustache and that I would take care of it myself. He then proceeded to cut half of it off, not tell me about it, and let me tip and walk out the door with half of a handlebar mustache. It typically fades into my beard when I do not have it styled, so I didn't pay much attention until I got into my car and was greeted by one half of a mustache. Nice.

Fantastic experience: Mike at the Middletown location has been my Barber for a few years now and he's always gone a great job and is very personable, I always appreciate his hard work and friendliness. All of the people that work there are also very friendly and make for a great atmosphere - my only gripe is that I wish they would install sound dampening panels because there's so much conversation and laughter that I can't hear what I'm saying at times.

I can tell he really cares about the quality of his work. I've got to know him over the years and he is a really solid dude. I always feel so much more confident after leaving with my fresh cut.

Fantastic experience: I've been booking my husbands appointments here for I believe over a year now, we don't trust anyone other than Scott to cut his hair, and he never ever disappoints. yes, it may be a little expensive, but you're paying for a quality haircut (he gets his hair and beard cut) I definitely make sure to book his appointment a few weeks in advance since I know it can get busy and about a month out during holidays. He's never been disappointed, done wrong, and has also been treated kindly we'll continue to use handsome fellows and Scott for a long, long time. ❤️

Fantastic experience: I’ve been calling Adam M. my barber for quite a few years now. Though I know him well personally, I do not carry any bias when I say he is the best barber I’ve had cut my hair. I give my money to people who do well for me. He does an outstanding job for me and every other client I’ve seen him work with. He consistently nails it when it comes to my high skin fades. I have yet to get even close to a good result with my haircuts from anyone else I’ve had to go to. On top of that, he is focused, passionate, and loves what he does which is reflected. I highly recommend scheduling with him and this shop.

Negative experience: Really enjoyed the atmosphere but I asked to get a 6 on top and was told by my barber that he didn't use clipper guards higher than a 3. After having to tell him to take more off twice I just said it was fine and fixed it myself with a clipper guard because it wasn't an even cut at all (he was eyeballing it and trimming off the top with no guard on)

Obviously they know when something might not work as well as you think. Boom perfect haircut... I've been to alot of places and everyone got it wrong. I've shown pictures ect. Handsome Fellows has got that “something special” and I would say most of it comes from the service and high-end cuts. It’s obvious, that the Barber’s here are true professionals….take a look at the photos, wait, better yet, go sit in the waiting room and watch their work. You’ll notice that the door’s keep opening as happy customers move in and out of these fine establishments. You’ll be hard pressed to find the same caliber of quality, service and attention to detail anywhere else in Louisville (much less the state of KY). Fantastic experience: Just had my first experience there. Got my beard trimmed up by a barber named Scott. I get sketched out sometimes when it comes to letting people handle my beard cause it grows so thick but he did a great job. I'm definitely going back. I recommend the premium beard trim. Worth every penny of the service cost and the tip I gave him.

Fantastic experience: I’ve been coming to HFBS for a year and a half now and I’ve NEVER had a bad haircut. Everyone who works here is always friendly, and always does an excellent job. Also, they do a straight edge shave on the back of your neck, which many other shops don’t do.

Fantastic experience: So after being in Louisville for over two years and trying different Barber Shops I have finally found my permanent Barber Shop. I go every Saturday Morning and Mike cuts my hair and trims my beard. Mike is consistent and is very easy to communicate with. Fantastic experience: Adam cut my hair and he nailed it. I just gave him a little direction of kinda what I wanted and he took the reins. I'm super happy and I'm going to see my grandma tomorrow that I haven't seen in 15 years, I know she'll say "what a handsome man" like grandma's do. Thanks Adam! Been here 3 times, all different people, all different interpretations and different outcomes, all great. I drive 40 minutes to come here, only place I go now. I paid 25 for a normal cut and tipped 10, they're worth it.

Negative experience: Adam cut my hair and was a very cool guy we talked for a while about cars and he was very friendly and kind. However I got home and realized after inspection that my hair was really messed up. You can see where he has just stopped next to my beard and didn’t blend it at all so it went from super bushy beard hair to very thin head hair which didn’t look good and I had to fix myself. Secondly, behind my ear there was about a half roller sized spot where I’m bald i don’t even know what happened there but it looks weird. I also didn’t get any sort of straight razor to my neck which I find strange because my typical barber always does that. My only other problem is that the price is outrageous and given the haircut I got it really wasn’t 40 bucks. The atmosphere is cool but all in all I probably would come back here

Fantastic experience: I’ve been going to Handsome Fellows for a couple of years now and moved with them to their new location (of which I love). I‘m so proud/happy for such an awesome group of people and the success they have achieved! Even though I don’t ever need a “men’s” cut or beard trim, they always make me feel at home. Julio has always adjusted wonderfully to my forever changing hair styles. I highly recommend him for all my short haired girls out there looking for the right fade.

Fantastic experience: I went to the St. Matthews location because I had read all the great reviews. At first, I was disappointed because they weren't ready for me at my designated appointment time. Zach was running about 20-25 minutes late. However, he was so courteous, professional, apologized several times and even gave me a goodwill discount without me complaining or having to ask. The facility was very clean, saw them wipe down the chairs and surfaces and did a great job with the Covid prevention procedures we have all become so familiar with. And the chairs are the most comfortable I've ever been in. Also did a great job with my haircut. Very few places these days really understand (customer) service, but these guys do. Handsome Fellows will now be my go-to place!
