Negative experience: Completely botched my beard trim and haircut my mustache is so uneven a marble would roll to the side he left one side of my beard like 9 inches and the left side 4 I felt like I was on a merry go round the entire time with the constant spinning convo was good but man little more focus on the job at hand for 50 bucks it was a total hustle its dark in there so it misses the eyes but once you hit sunlight my god you feel like you look like a clown coming out the circus and hes the ring leader when I looked at it and combed it out after a shower I thought Johnny Knoxville was punking me and Steve o was gonna jump out kick me in the balls lol

Positive experience: It was cool but way too expensive for my budget…..outside of that, 100% I would go back

Fantastic experience: Stopped by for a walk in and received what is likely the best hair cut I have ever had in my 27 years of life. Guy that owns the shop has truly mastered his craft, cannot recommend him enough.

Negative experience: My nephew went here for a haircut and tried to clearly explain and show the barber what he wanted. The response he got was essentially, “I know what all you kids want these days,” and his input was ignored entirely. No consideration was given to his widow’s peaks, which already make his hair more challenging to work with. The end result speaks for itself (photos attached). The cut is uneven, not blended properly, and does not suit his face at all. On top of that, whatever product was put in his hair looked like super glue. My sister had to wash his hair three times when they got home just to get it out. The most heartbreaking part is that my nephew—who is a teenager and already dealing with enough—cried for hours afterward, saying his life was ruined because of how bad the haircut was. Teenagers are vulnerable, and this experience made it far worse. I understand not everyone will love every haircut, but this goes beyond preference. This was careless, dismissive, and completely unprofessional. Paying nearly $30 for a haircut that looks this bad is unacceptable. After seeing how the owner responds to other reviews, I’m honestly not surprised. The responses are defensive, unprofessional, and blame the customer instead of taking accountability. We are not looking for an apology—we’ve already seen how those are handled here. We will not be returning, and I strongly encourage others to read the reviews and look at the photos before choosing this shop.

Negative experience: My son went and got a hair cut there and tried to show the gentleman working what he wanted done and proceeded to tell him oh yeah I know what all you kids want these days he didn’t even take in consideration the widows peaks in his hair which make it difficult to get a good hair cut in itself and I understand that but the fact that my son has been crying for 4 hours about his hair cut and that his life is ruined because it truly doesn’t fit his facial structure at all is highly disappointing I understand that not everyone is always happy with a hair cut but he’s a teen and already has enough going on in his life this just adds to it I’m not expecting an apology because I’ve already seen the “apologies” and they are sub par for business we will never be back and $30 for a hair cut that looked as terrible as it did is completely unacceptable

Positive experience: Whoever did it was definitely Edward scissor hands lol. The ravorburn was awful and it looked like he tried to hang himself. His neck was awful. I felt the pain for him. I absolutely loved the hair cut though.

Fantastic experience: I'm new to the flint area, took my son in for a walk in and showed the barber a picture of the cut he wanted and mastered it. We walked out a happy camper. Thanks alot.

Negative experience: I’d like to start this review by saying I originally loved this place. My son and I have gone twice so far to get my sons haircut. Both times they did clean work and it was great. However, this most recent visit today was awful. It’s the day before Christmas Eve, so I understand Ken was busy. I’m not taking that away from him at all. My son and I waited almost an hour and a half to get his hair cut and was turned away. He’s 3 years old so I understand cutting a 3 year olds hair can be a lot. Especially my 3 year old who cries during haircuts. He isn’t the most comfortable with the buzzing sounds in his ear it scares him. Anyways, my son gets in the chair and his hair wasn’t picked out. Ken asked me if I picked out his hair and I said no, because I didn’t. Last time my son went there the other gentleman put water and conditioner in his hair and the comb went through his hair with ease. It took the gentleman all of 2 mins to pick out my sons hair. Which he doesn’t even have a lot at all. Ken decided that my son was not getting his hair cut today because his hair wasn’t picked out and he didn’t want to hurt him. Understandable. However I can’t seem to grasp why he thought this would not be upsetting as I waited almost an hour and half! I could’ve stayed at home. My son wasn’t even in the chair 5 mins before he gave up on him and said come back tomorrow. I would’ve rather him be honest and just say he was really busy (again, the day before Christmas Eve so I totally get it), and say that he couldn’t / and or didn’t want to deal with the fuss of a 3 year old than to put the blame on me because his hair wasn’t picked out. He didn’t even try to pick it out himself. Gave up almost instantly. I’ve never been told by any barber that my son has seen that I need to bring him with his hair picked out. After waited all that time, and being in the chair for less than 5 mins we were told to come back “tomorrow”. My Christmas Eve day is packed with stuff to do which is why I brought him the day before. But I guess my schedule doesn’t matter. We took the time out of our day to give Man Cave business but our business wasn’t good enough I guess to be turned away so quickly. I am upset at this outcome and even more upset I have to leave this review because we liked it here. For someone who claims to specialize with kids, he didn’t work with mine. I’m not sure what happened . The two other times were great! Guess he just didn’t have the patience today. *EDIT in response to owner* I am very aware that humans make mistakes, which is why I mentioned in my review that I understood you were busy. However, you watched me sit there patiently for over an hour with a small child waiting for your services JUST to be turned away in 5 mins without you making any effort? That is insane. What I don’t understand is why you’re JUST now 3 months later responding to my review, once again putting the blame on the customer. I don’t need to know about your life or what you had going on. It is your obligation as a business owner to take care of your customers. You dropped the ball major on this one. Just own it and apologize. I hope whatever it was causing you to treat your customers that way has been resolved.

Fantastic experience: Bestie and I went in for a touch up on our undercuts. They did a PHENOMENAL job! Ken is absolutely hilarious and absolutely KILLED my lineup. Will definitely be a return customer

Fantastic experience: It’s taken me way too long to post this review, but I stopped by about 3 months ago when visiting my best friend from out of state. He loves coming here and always has the coolest haircuts. During my stay, my buddy needed a trim, and I desperately needed one too. I’ve been super afraid of getting my hair cut after a horrible experience elsewhere, but I trusted in Ken and the magic he’s been doing on my friend for years. So with that being said, I took a leap of faith, and in return, I received the best hair cut I’ve EVER had! I only wish it could have stayed that way forever. I’m visiting town next weekend, and I hope that Ken is available again to spruce up my ‘do. As a female with a short haircut and who absolutely hates going to traditional salons, this place fits the bill. The vibe here is phenomenal, super cozy with great music and I immediately felt relaxed upon entering the door. Thank you again, Ken, for your amazing work and I cannot wait to visit again!

Positive experience: The fade itself looked great, but I still had to go home and fix the long hairs left behind my ears. For $30 before tip, I expect more. Most shops around here charge $20 and that comes with a wash and a straight razor cleanup. Ten minutes in the chair. Good cut, just not $30 good

Fantastic experience: My boy hasn’t been to a barber since his first haircut 3 years ago because of sensory overload. We finally made the jump to try out MAN CAVE and Ken was AMAZING with my 4 year old. He talked him through what he was doing, he checked to make sure my son was okay, asking questions interacting with him and was patient and efficient getting the job done! Negative experience: Took my son into this shop to get a hair cut for him and the guy was very aggressive and messed up his hair. Did not faid the sides into the top definitely not worth the 29 dollars I spent. The guy should of listen instead of thinking he knew how someone wants their hair cut.

Fantastic experience: Ken is a very pleasant barber who is very talented with the clippers. He is fast, clean and thorough in his understanding of the request the desired cut. He repeated back to me my own request just to make sure he understood exactly what I was asking of him. He wears gloves to protect the client as well as himself. I only get the nape area of my hair cleanup by barbers along with a lineup. He did just what I asked and in less than 15 mins. I would definitely recommend this shop and Ken the barber to anyone.

Fantastic experience: The last little redhead who came in officially dubbed this place his new home barbershop! The atmosphere and vibe here are unmatched—laid-back, welcoming, and exactly what a barbershop should feel like. Loved every minute of it and we will be back!

Negative experience: Dude didn’t listen to me at all …He was worried about a guys headphone that was left by the guy before me . Six months of beard growth gone. Supposed to be a trim and lined up . I was one of the families waiting after Daryl had his bad experience . Don’t take walk ins if you can’t manage them . I watched you take 45 mins with a young man . He spent about ten on another then ten on mine to catch up so he could leave at three and he just kept taking people in . I came in at 1pm . I said I wanted a bald fade . Not what I recieved at all . I knew I was in trouble when he went from cutting my sides and back right into my beard with the same guard .Then didn’t trim all of my beard . If you love your beard and hair this is not the place for you. I was really looking forward to getting my beard trimmed by a pro . I had to come home and spend more time cleaning up my haircut and beard than was spent on me in the chair in the first place .

Negative experience: WARNING!! After sitting and waiting for 45 minutes while the barber gave exceedingly detailed attention to a young man, which included an excessive number of minutes spent repeatedly going back over the lines around his whole head and then his face and neck, he finally appeared to be done, but after the boy walked away, the barber called him back to spend another 5 minutes on a tiny patch of hair on his chin. There were 2 other families waiting for haircuts and in case anyone thinks I inappropriately judged the situation, you should know that the other families were expressing their own feelings of frustration and disbelief about the situation. I was next in the chair, the barber asked what I wanted done and I said shorten it up to a number 2 guard depth. I was not facing a mirror and was only handed one at the very end after the drape was removed. He spent less than 10 minutes, shaved my head nearly bald, and cut shredded my skin on my face, and neck with his aggressive and very fast movements. That’s not all folks, on top of everything what was supposed to be a $15 senior cut, was rung up as a charge of $37. I will never go back there, and will make sure that anyone I know who is looking for a barber will not go to the Man Cave on Miller Road in Flint.

Negative experience: My son went in to get his haircut, he is 15 yrs old he asked for a fade short on the sides and long on top!!!! Well he came out with a total buzz cut, there was no fade let alone no hair maybe 1/2 inch on top, he had about 4-5 inches on top before the cut!!! My son was in TEARS!!! ABSOLUTELY THE WORST HAIRCUT EVER FOR HIM!!! NEVER EVER GO HERE!!

Fantastic experience: I have taken my 5 year old son to many different barber shops since he started getting hair cuts and not one of them had the patience for my him. He has ADHD and Autism and very much a mover constantly. He would leave with the worst cuts and they just truly didn't care. Not at the Man Cave, Ken was absolutely amazing with him. He melted my heart with the patience he had for him and the understanding. The atmosphere is so chill and laid back that the wait time doesn't even matter because its actually a lot of fun to be there. And he is pretty much the only one around that offers walk ins as well. Negative experience: Forget this place. Called to make an appointment, was told to just come in as a walk in, there was no one there. Get there, and there's 3 people waiting. Gets to the person that was before me, and the barber asks who's next and let's a woman get in the chair that had just came in. Sat there for an hour, and would've waited another 30 minutes plus. There's a sign that says appointments come first before walk ins. Wasted the whole time and now can't get a haircut before Christmas due to schedule and availability. This place sucks.

Negative experience: I took my son here to get his haircut The guy was super rude no bedside manners, jerked my kid's head around like it wasn't attached to his body and then gave him the crappiest haircut he's ever had in his entire life. He didn't even give him a line up it's patchy and he took about 6 in off when we only wanted two, we've been growing his hair out for years and he has to start all over Way to go man gave you suck Ken.

Fantastic experience: So I made a post last weekend searching for a new barber before my Birthday. My barber of 25yrs had moved to Nebraska. Many people suggested "go see Ken at Mancave". Very neat and clean business As a women I felt welcomed and listened to. It was a great experience and the cut is fantastic. I definitely found my new barbershop home.

Fantastic experience: LOVE THIS PLACE!!! This was our first time coming to this place. Not only was the place itself was awesome inside…KEN is an incredible barber that knows how to work with all kinds of textured hair. My fiancés haircut was a complete 360 difference in the greatest way, Ken is his new barber!!

Negative experience: Was going to be a first time customer. I walked in and had no place to sit for my wait. He said to put my information down and it going to be about an hr wait. I left my name phone number and the time that I showed up. I patently waited 2 hours in my car thinking he was going to call. I then went inside and proceeded to wait another hr after I told him I’ve been waiting 2 hrs and thought he was going to call. Told me it was his system. I ended up just leaving without a hair cut.

Negative experience: Would leave no stars if possible. I got my hair cut October 6 2024, there was one person there and once it was my turn he rushed through, my tapers weren’t all the way in and more. I left with half a hair cut basically and he also cut my ear and didn’t say anything. I will not be back, wish I could get my money back.

Fantastic experience: I said I had an interview coming up and wanted to clean up, and my barber took it from there. He was very skilled, and trimmed my hair, beard and mustache. I loved my look, and he was very fast too. Accepted me as a walk in, which is always appreciated

You can tell he's really passionate about what he's doing in there. Definitely making this my son and husband's spot for their haircuts from now on.

Fantastic experience: I’ve taken my 6 year old to so many barbers and hair salons and haven’t NO ONE cut his hair the way this man did. He is amazing!!!!! He does theee best work I will not take my boys anywhere else ever.

Negative experience: Went here yesterday with my son at 12:20. The barber skipped over him twice to cut people that came in 20 minutes after us. I check the sign in sheet and they were also walk-ins. My son and I were the only white people in the shop and he skipped us to cut other black heads. I do not care what color anyone is at all! This is completely unacceptable!!! The way we are treated like whites are the ones that are racist is completely RIDICULOUS!!!! I am not racist whatsoever but was treated like I was wearing a clansman uniform! I will be protesting this barbershop very soon!!!!

Fantastic experience: Ken was very professional I showed up with my son when he was closing and he stayed open to cut his hair and gave him some words of wisdom! Amazing place clean quick and convenient location

Fantastic experience: Newer to the area and tried a couple other places and they weren’t it. But this place is! My son Elijah and I were very happy with the outcome! Ken did a great job! Relaxing environment! Nice Looking shop! Man cave is definitely our go to now!

Fantastic experience: Took my 2 son's and husband in yesterday to get hair cuts, we will forsure be going back!! Little bit of a wait but so worth it! The atmosphere was relaxing and chill had arcade game for kids to play while they waited.... my son's enjoyed the barbers jokes and messing around. Hair cuts turned out exactly what I was looking for! Husband also got his beard trimmed up and he loves it which is very picky about! Very reasonable prices best price I have seen in long time for great quality.
