Fantastic experience: When I moved to Waco a few months ago, I went to a few other places before settling on this one. Forgot names of others who cut my hair before but everyone was so great. JB, however, is my guy now. Listens to what you want and never makes you feel rushed. Excellent work and customer service.

Negative experience: This haircut ended up being a big let down. Because my hair is curly, I didn’t notice this at the shop, but when I got home and washed my hair and really checked it out, the left side of my hair was about 1 in longer than the right side. I appreciate the approach to cutting curly hair but there’s still a call for making sure theirs symmetry, especially in men’s cuts being shorter. Id consider going back because Corey was collaborative with what I was hoping for. But I think for what I paid — I’m back at it again, searching for a good barber. If you do go, I’d just make sure you really inspect the cut from all sides and run your fingers through before leaving.

I had been growing my hair out for a long time, it was about time to cutting it, he took his time and made sure everything was right. He didn’t rush at all. The fade is always smooth, sharp lineup, and he takes his time to make sure everything is right. You can tell he really cares about his craft. Shop vibes are solid too — professional and welcoming. Fantastic experience: Me and my boy's needed a haircut and haven't been able to get in with the barber we use due to him moving locations. We go to waco often and looked up babershops in the area so we stopped in to Butler's. We were walk-ins but they worked us in fast! My 13yr old son got his hair cut by Johnny Tovar, my son showed Johnny a picture of what he wanted and Johnny delivered now my son only wants yo go back to get his hair cut by him! David Davila cut my 9yr olds hair and he was great! They talked about Jurassic Park and his upcoming field trip to the caverns while he cut his hair now my son is already asking to go back to get another hair cut. Michael Castillo cut my hair and trimed up my beard. He did great a job and had me looking fresh! If your looking for a place to get your haircut by some great people stop by and check out Butler's Barber Lounge! We will be booking appts for future haircuts with the 3 gentlemen! Even if you dont have an appt. Its worth the wait if your a walk-in! Best part for us is they are open late and on sundays!

Negative experience: Waited over 40 minutes for a haircut while two barbers sat around on their phones and another walked out after finishing a cut. I understand places get busy, but letting a customer sit there with zero updates, no acknowledgment, and not even a courtesy “hey, it’ll be a while” is unacceptable. When I walked in, a few people were already getting cuts and seemed close to finishing, but somehow they never did. I get taking pride in your work, but taking that long is ridiculous. When I finally left, I got a half-hearted apology that honestly made it feel like they didn’t even want to cut my hair in the first place. Ended up finding another shop that was way better. DO NOT go to this place unless you have an appointment. Either way, I won’t be back.

Fantastic experience: I’m new to the area and was in need of a haircut when I found Butler’s barber lounge. I was hesitant at first because it’s hard for me to trust any barbershop/barber but the reviews were good and it turned out great. The shop was nice and clean and everyone was welcoming. I had the pleasure of meeting my new barber David Q who gave me a much needed taper fade. I left feeling happy with my cut and was even complimented later that day on how clean the taper was. The cut was very cheap for the quality I believe it was around 30 bucks but the cut was good we had to tip. I appreciate the service and I would come back again.

Negative experience: This was my 2-year-old’s first haircut, and it did not turn out as shown or discussed. While the barber was patient during my child’s crying, the haircut itself was uneven, the hair was not cleaned off him, and the style was left unfinished. Overall, this was a disappointing experience, and I will not be returning.

Fantastic experience: David gave me one of the best cuts. I travel the country for work, so finding a great barber on the road is always a challenge — but David went above and beyond. He absolutely nailed my fade and beard lineup. There was a small scheduling mix-up, but he went out of his way to make it right, which says a lot about his professionalism and character.
