Negative experience: Always closed inside of advertised opening hours, Bad communication, Very disappointing because the business started out very strong and promising with good staff. Not sure what happened but it has gone downhill fast. Sick of turning up to locked doors and lights off at 3 pm or on weekends at any time

Negative experience: Been a couple of times and shop closed. Both website and Google say open. No signage to say what's going on. Waste my gas twice. Do better please.

Negative experience: You guys seemed nice and I'm not trying to slag you off, if you change a couple things I mention the business will be better off. As a walk in customer, seeing two kids half way through a hair cut with two adults waiting, I expected a 30-40 min wait. I came in at 3:20pm and finally had my cut at 4:50. You need to inform people there will be a wait. An hour and a half with two people before you at a barber is an insanely long wait I've never experienced. Insult to injury a guy that came 20 mins after me was seen before me and was only told he had a booking as he was called up Tell your customers there may be a wait when they arrive, not as you call up a booking, so you don't waste their time. I left at 5:20pm. The cut was a 6/10 fine but nothing spectacular. the lack of communication and slowness of everything was really frustrating. I could see you guys cared about what you do but putting some signs up about bookings and prices would've made it a better experience

Negative experience: States they are open till 6pm on a Sunday, but refuse to service when you walk in at 4pm. Too busy and long queues on Saturdays too. Clearly making enough money to send clients away.

Positive experience: First time my 7 year old has been to an actual barber. Easy to book appointment online via their website. Jarney his barber was amazing. Definitely coming back. Thanks team!

Fantastic experience: Big shout-out to Jarney. Jarney went above & beyond to fit my two boys in on his already full schedule recently. They refuse to go anywhere else & will rather wait days/weeks to get a cut. Jarney listens to exactly what they want & communicates throughout the whole process to ensure they get what they ask for. Their most recent cut, Jarney spent a little more time than usual to make sure my boys got that smart fresh look for their first day back at school. My boys highly recommend Jarney & Team for your next cut.

Fantastic experience: Just moved to Pokeno from out west. Brother in-law told me about this place. The Asian guy at The Refuge Barbershop knocked my Skin fade and beard trim out of the park 10/10 service and they even make their own beard oil!

Fantastic experience: Met the Team at the Waka Ama Nats, Me and my 2 boys travel from Hamilton every 2 weeks to get a fresh fade. Great tidy environment, barbers create a mean atmosphere too. Worth the drive. Highly recommend for fresh fades and their designs are

Negative experience: Turned up for appointment at 1000am and the place was closed! Will not be returning. I do not recommend you rely on this place

Negative experience: Every other fade i've had here have been minta and never had an issue with them but this one wasn't up to "Qualified Barber Standard" Came in for $60 Razor Fade. Hairline left uneven and by uneven I mean bumpy cut like the fulla couldn't even hold it straight and was too lazy. Left hair on my face from the shave. Hospitality wasn't any better, felt like the haircut was rushed and didn't receive the Complimentary Hot Towel. Actions speak louder than words when you go in for your cut and there's already a few customers waiting and you get sat straight away.

Fantastic experience: First barber I've ever used so don't have a comparison BUT customer service was top notch, the fade looked awesome and it's a very relaxed yet professional environment. Definitely going to be my regular, very impressed.

Positive experience: The team are a good bunch and normally deliver a good service. The issue is the opening times don't align with their advertised hours on Google and it is not the first time the shop has been closed early.

Negative experience: I’m all for supporting our people! But My partner took my boys here today for a cut, Ages 9 and 7. Their fades were alright… but the boxing… bro was pathetic! $25 per kid as well for that? I was fuming when I got home from Mahi to see that ‍♂️ She didn’t catch the guys name who did the cuts, but it was a larger male. I wanted to add photos but it won’t let me! Definitely won’t be taking them back there again!

Negative experience: Was after a decent haircut. Sat on the seat for all of 2 minutes and he was apparently finished. Buzz cut around the sides and back no razor blade to finish it properly. Did about 4 minor cuts on top of my head and said he was finished. My hair was still dripping from the water he sprayed on it! Genuinely the worse cut i have ever had. A full buzz cut would've looked better compared to what i was left with. Best part was the charge of $35!!!! Go to tuakau. Its cheaper and you get your money's worth.
