Fantastic experience: The best barber shop in the east of Ireland. Got my hair cut here yesterday and I can't believe the time and detail barber took to do a great job. Great prices. Definitely now my number 1 barber to go to. Give it a try, you won't be disappointed

Negative experience: Usually gives good haircuts. Been once or twice before, and they were pretty good. But this time was a disaster. I like changing my hairstyle from time to time. And this time around the block, I picked a wolfcut/grown out wavy middle part. I, of course, knew my hair was not long enough for this style just yet. But I went in to get it groomed and cleaned up. And really, just get the foundations down for the style. I hadn't been to Richie's in a long time. (Last visit - late August 2024). And back then, I got my haircut by the man himself. As said before, it was phenomenonal. But this time around, I hadn't noticed, but he had two new people working with him. After waiting 5 minutes, one of the men, a skinny lad, had called me over. I sat in the chair and began trying to explain what I wanted. Showing reference pictures whatnot. I'm sure this guy is a talented barber and can cut hair well, but there was a problem at hand. Not to be rude, but to put bluntly, he barely knew a lick of English. So it was quite difficult to communicate with him. Although I trusted the process, he soon got to work. I told him I wanted only a small bit off the top. But he proceeded to take more than I asked for. Way more. Although I still trusted him. He then moved to the back of my head without me even noticing and simply asked me, "same style, or from back?". This was very confusing and gave me no clue into what he was saying. I then asked him, "Sorry, what?" Which he just blankly stared for two to three seconds before repeating the question once more. Me out of confusion, just said "same style." In fairness, he did do a pretty good job with the back, and I liked how it turned out. But then, as I showed me the final product, I was shocked and could only muster out a meagre, but disappointed. "ehhhh..." which saved this chopped cut to a degree. I then told him to trim the sides a bit with the razor, although with difficult. Which he did do an okay job with. The only problem was that he only trimmed the lower sides and not my upper sides. Leaving this dumpling shape on my head. He then proceeded to style it into this ugly, 1820's like hairstyle without my consent to do so. (Which I'm used to, most barbers do it to be honest.) But the thing that agitated me the most about it was that he put this real strong holding powder in it, in an ugly style. Which no barber I've encountered does this without asking first. I decided to fake a smile and just get on with the cut, paying fifteen euro and leaving. I then proceeded to hand out with friends for a while, self-conscious about my looks. But I held out hope that once I got home and showered, it would all be okay. I have done so as of writing this about an hour ago. And I can confirm that while it's not as bad as it looks, it's not very good. And I'm seriously considering buzzing it like I'm signing up for the US Marines. Of course, I'm guessing you'd like some reference images. So I'll attach some in this post. - one before I got my haircut. - one after my cut, but before I went home and showered. (Although there's not much difference, there's no point for a third.)

Fantastic experience: Great service and it's walk-in too which I much prefer to having to book an appointment. 3 or 4 guys work there, one very chatty and friendly if you like that, or if you prefer to sit quietly, the other barbers will cut in silence.

Negative experience: Awful customer service, booked a reservation for 1:30 then couldn't get a haircut until 2:30 which I had to go because they put someone else Infront of me in line

Negative experience: Was in today for a haircut which was unevee and he took more off one side than the other it came to 18 euro I paid with a 20 note which I received from another shop as change I handed the money to the guy at the till and he refused it because it was ripped but sellotaped back together (fully usable) he then proceeded to tell me to pay with different cash which I didn't have on me I took the money back and showed a barber working there and he said yes it is acceptable this man's tone was very aggressive very unhappy with the staff at Richie's barbers

Negative experience: i got cut by the woman it was so bad i asked for a low skinfade and i ended up getting all my hair on the side chopped off its above my forhead and she chopped off my whole fringer which i didnt ask for and she cut the whole back inwards and it doesnt match up with the rest of my head i look like a uneven egg i dont reccomend going to her.

Fantastic experience: My son finally likes going to the barbers!

Positive experience: Was there today trimmed beard ,and cut my hair in which I had very little on my head as I am nearly bald .it cost me 23 euro very expensive compare to 15 euro 2 weeks ago.

Fantastic experience: I can’t thank Richie enough for today. My son had become afraid of getting his hair cut since the lockdowns. We’ve had many attempts where I gave in to his crying and left. Today, his hair needed to be cut so badly so despite the tantrum Richie powered through. He constantly reassured by son and kept chatting with him and he eventually calmed down. There were plenty of sweat and tears (not all Richies ) but My 4 year old is now sporting a very neat and tidy haircut. Thanks again Richie, we’ll see you in 2 weeks for another cut and a lolly!

Negative experience: Little or no evidence of enforcement of covid guidelines on customers. While all staff were wearing masks, 6 customers were in store without face masks and were not challenged by staff. I walked out. Next lock down won't be far away.

Negative experience: my son got his hair cut yesterday he looks terrible he had a tantrum going out to school thus morning he said he will be bullied over this haircut if you want a proper hair cut gi to Darrens or town heads or somewhere else its a holy disgrace what my sons hair turned out like :( 1/5
