Fantastic experience: Popped in on the off chance to get a quick hair cut, was warmly welcomed by the team, requested a style by showing a picture and he was happy to do so, offered a drink which I did not take (I would highly recommend if you do like coffee though) which was incredibly polite. The barber was super nice, very gentle, incredibly skilled and very helpful with advice on what style is best suitable for myself. Negative experience: Booked with a guy called Aky at 9am (opening), who then just decided to cut someone else’s hair instead…..ended up with a guy called Rez - who turned up late (I’m big on punctuality and manners). The booking said; ‘Normal Haircut - wash, hot towel, ear flame, massage & coffee all included’ I asked Rez if they wash my hair first? He said ‘maybe you should wash it afterwards’….i said I wanted it washing beforehand, which clearly gave him the hump. I was then forced to lean face forward in a sink while he washed half my hair and just wet the other half, he then used half a make shift paper towel to dry my hair, I’m pretty sure intentionally roughly/accidentally on purpose gouging both my eyes in the process - he was so far down my face this can’t have been an accident. I then informed him how I wanted my hair cutting, which was completely ignored (he cut it in a side parting - I don’t wear my hair in a side parting). This seemed to further create tension when I told him this. No chat throughout, just attitude. If you want a Turkish shave and don’t care who does it, this probably isn’t a bad place. If you want someone to listen to you and do a proper haircut, I’d advise going elsewhere to the many other options in St Albans. I’d certainly avoid Rez!! Didn’t get offered the hot towel (I had a paper one), ear flame or massage either. Very disappointing service.

Service delivered with complimentary coffee which was delicious and the atmosphere was calming. I had a hair and beard trim, definitely will be using this barbers again. Fantastic experience: Genuinely have given me the worst haircut I have ever had! I always keep a bit of hair longer to cover the obvious hairline. When a hairdresser says “oops” midway cutting your hair is an absolute shambles. The shop looks lovely but the staff are clearly not good at their job unfortunately. Would not recommend! I should have to tell the barber to leave a bit of hair longer, it was longer when I arrived, I expect it to be similar when I leave. It’s not my job to tell you how to cut hair and it ain’t your job to tell me how to lay bricks. Shambles

My son is autistic and often haircuts are a traumatic experience but Picasso made him feel totally comfortable. Plus, the haircut was brilliant , fast, and fairly priced. Positive experience: Made an appointment for a £19 "Normal haircut". Was offered a (very nice) cup of coffee on arrival, and the barber got straight to business. Barber gave an attentive, decent short back and sides, followed by a quick wash in the basin. However, the service I booked online advertised a hot towel, massage and ear flaming. I was not offered any of these services. I didn't ask why, as this would have felt awkward. I'm not sure why they weren't offered. There was no one else waiting for a haircut, so I assume it wasn't down to a lack of time. This was disappointing as it was something I was looking forward to experiencing. They also prefer you to pay by cash, ushering you to the ATM outside when it comes to payment time. So bear this in mind. Overall, not a bad haircut, but didn't receive the full service which was advertised.

Fantastic experience: I hadn't planned for a haircut. Happened to walk by and was drawn in by the music and the possibility of a cuppa while they shortened my graying hair. The layout and decor is great. Welcoming atmosphere. Managed to get a walk in appointment without much hassle. Had the hair cut and styled as I actually asked for (not always the case when you're not visiting your local barber ).. This included some extravagant pyrotechnics to remove unwanted hair from the ears. Throw in a hair wash and a hot towel to the face, I was not only re-energised, but expecting an expensive final bill.. But no! Cut, wash and hot face towel all for under £20? Nice! I'm so glad I stopped by..... and will do so again! Cheers guys!

Fantastic experience: One hell of a salon!! I booked this salon as a surprise for my dad. I was totally taken away by 1. How clean it was, 2. How incredibly friendly and well mannered the staff were, 3. How the staff wore masks and sanitised the equipment after use and 4. How they offered coffee to us whilst we waited. Shah was such a gentleman and cut my fathers hair exactly as per his photo. I love the technique used in their styling. My dad loved the hot towel and felt that £19 was a great price to include the basics plus extras. Top job Picasso Team!!!!! I love your work and your salon.

Best gents hairdresser I’ve been to in St Albans since arriving from London 10 years ago. Fantastic experience: I have been going to PCC since they opened in St Albans in 2021. I absolutely cannot fault their service, professional approach and the experience is memorable every time I go there. I believe in value for money and that's what you get from PCC. My personal preference is Raz. I enjoy his style, methodology of cutting my hair and his chat with banter. I make sure to book with him every time I need a cut (every two weeks) and if Raz isn't available I go to any of the other barbers. I highly recommend them for a great experience of a hair cut enjoyed with fantastic complimentary cup of coffee.

Positive experience: The atmosphere was good, and so was the start of the haircut. But when it came to styling the barber disregarded what I had shown him, even after reminding him about it choosing to instead to go with what he wanted. Then he used product against my wishes so that he could get a photo that satisfied him and not me.

Fantastic experience: Excellent barbers with the most competitive pricing in St Albans. For £17 you get a full hair cut service with wash, hot towel and ear flame. The cut takes circa 30 mins and done to perfection by Picasso, with a complimentary coffee to enjoy whilst he works his magic! The premises are the cleanest and most attractive I have seen in all my years trying different barbers in North and East London (I recently moved to St Albans). Highly recommended.

Fantastic experience: After recently moving to St Albans, I needed to find a new barber. I walked past Picasso a few days ago and thought it looked pretty good so I came back at the weekend and it was far better than I expected! To start with, the interior was great, modern and chic and very comfortable. Thankfully they were taking walk ins and it was a quieter than I expected it to be. We grabbed a seat and was offered a coffee straight away. I explained what I wanted to the barber and he listened and got it spot on. What I didn’t expect with this haircut was the additional extras that just happened. I got my coffee, the barber paid incredibly close attention to what he was doing and didn’t move on to the next part until he was happy with his work. I wasn’t then expecting an ear flame, which I have no idea what it does, but it was cool. Then a wash and dry, which I’m not used to getting from most other barbers, AND a hot towel. And a very nice massage to top it all off. Amazing value for £17!

Fantastic experience: First time at Picasso to get a haircut, and well what an amazing experience. Picasso himself cut my hair, trimmed my beard, I got a cup of coffee, then he washed my hair, slapped a hot towel on my face, gave me a neck massage and then flash fired the small hairs of my ears. Such incredible attention to detail and a really relaxing experience. My hair and beard look great!!

Negative experience: TERRIBLE!!! Firstly, the staff weren’t polite at all and it wasn’t very clean. The trimmers and other products weren’t sanitised before using it on another customer which is horrendous since we are going through a pandemic. I’m getting my haircut now and he messed it up. I asked for a medium fade and he decided to go all the way to the top, messing up my haircut for Eid. Then he decides to go ahead and charge me full price for the haircut when I clearly told him I wasn’t satisfied with it or the fact that this is not what I asked for. Honestly have never been to a more terrible barber shop than this one. DO NOT GO HERE OR YOU WILL REGRET IT!!!!

Fantastic experience: Hands down the best hair cut experience I’ve ever had. This was my first hair cut in St. Albans so was a bit nervous about where to book, especially as I can be quite particular with what I want (no clippers, grade 1 etc.) These guys absolutely nailed my desired style and the service on top was incredible - coffee, hot towel, massage, the lot! There’s no awkwardness either, clearly professionals who’ve been in the business for a long time (the salon is brand new though, and very impressive!) Fantastic experience: I went to that area to shop, at first I thought it was a coffee shop because I was looking for the smell of coffee but there wasn’t coffee shop, it was a new barber shop. I cut my hair, hot towel, professional staff, head massage, delicious double espresso. Although newly opened but they offer very professional services. I will be back soon, you are my favourite.

Fantastic experience: Summary: outstanding haircut, it's a new business and the energy/enthusiasm they are putting in is evident. Clean and safe environment and they were very welcoming. The cut was not rushed, Rez was clearly taking pride in doing a great job. I accepted the offer of a coffee when I arrived - something you'd expect more with a £40+ trim. A hot towel rub at the end was pleasant and the blow dry styling was good. Good atmosphere, appropriate music (not jarring or overly genred etc.), clean and a slightly unusual decor. Good amount of space, and it's especially nice to not be cramped in these days. The theme you'll heavily see in these reviews is the excellent value (£17!). And while that's very true (especially in St. Albans & post Covid), it's still a 5* cut even if I was paying £25+. It's not good value in the sense it's "good bang for buck" - they aren't cutting corners to be cheaper, it's good value in the sense they must be intentionally undercutting the competition to attract an audience. I would expect the rate will increase over the next 12 months - and that's okay and healthy. They've certainly drawn me in, and I'll be a loyal customer from the level of service and quality.

Fantastic experience: Dropped in on the off chance when visiting family is St Albans and had a fantastic experience. The place has only been open for 7 days but you wouldn't have thought it. It was just brilliant, the barber who I had was called Memhet, he was very patient and took his time, which you can tell he was a true professional with immense passion for his job. The hair cut I got was a skin fade with beard trim, I can say without a doubt, this was the best hair cut I have ever got till date, the barber who I had was named Memhet, he was just brilliant, he was very patient, took his time, and gave me nothing less then perfection, after my hair cut was done, I was offered a hot towel treatment along with a massage, which I must say was an amazing gesture. Overall I would give this place 5/5, for service, quality of work, fresh and stylish. Memhet, I will be coming back soon buddy.

Fantastic experience: Had a regular hair cut, great cut to start with, I walked in and greeted right away and was well attended to. My 1st impression was clean, stylish and fresh. My barber who I unfortunately did not catch the name of, he was great, listened to what I needed my hair to be and could leave him to work his magic, he did not dissapoint! Just after I explained what I needed to my barber, someone came over to ask for my coffee order (they do tea and I believe some other none alcoholic drinks but not sure so just ask). Coffee was great just how I like it! All in all great all around and would come back every time!

Fantastic experience: Came in this morning for a haircut, expecting it to be really busy due to recent lockdown easing. Was seen straight away and greeted with a smile. Offered a coffee or any drink I'd like straight away. Really good quality haircut, nothing was too much to ask for and you get free quick massage as well. For around £20, it is much better than any service you'd get for £50.
