Fantastic experience: Bonnie was absolutely wonderful! Her communication was excellent from start to finish, and she made the entire experience smooth and stress-free. Our little boy felt completely comfortable with her throughout his haircut, which meant so much to us—especially since it was his very first one. She was patient, gentle, and clearly experienced with children, making the whole appointment enjoyable for him. As parents, we’re confident he had a great experience. We will definitely be recommending Bonnie to others and look forward to coming back again!

Really patient and kind, especially when my son refused to go in the car chair. Nothing was too much trouble and I really felt listened to about what I wanted to achieve for their hair whilst giving me her expert advice. Negative experience: Worst barbershop experience I’ve ever had. It was my first time going, as I recently moved to Hereford for work, and it will definitely be my last. I honestly don’t understand how they have five stars on Google. They told me they had no available appointments, but that a new guy could cut my hair. I want to be clear that the new guy isn’t to blame, but it genuinely felt like it was his first ever haircut. He completely messed up my hair, and to make it worse, while he spent an hour trying to cut mine, the barbers next to us managed to cut three people in the same time. My haircut ended up uneven and just a total disaster. I’m giving one star only because zero isn’t an option. I do not recommend this place and I will not be coming back.

Fantastic experience: The place to be!!! I’m painfully awkward but that was no bother for Jen. Both my toddler and I had appointments with Jen back to back. Jen totally had us relaxed and worked with us to land on cuts that were next level, which in part is skill but also brilliant listening and consideration. I could go on honestly but bottom line is- go here! I’m sure the whole team are fantastic but Jen was a literal dream. My toddler loveeeed the hair cut car / toddler room. His hair is the best it’s even been, and mine too after a visit with Jen! We travelled from The Forest Of Dean- well worth it. Top Class. You will love it here. Thanks guys!

Fantastic experience: I took my 2yo boy in to have his hair cut before holiday. He’s historically not liked getting his hair cut and despite loving the car chair he started getting upset when he was placed in the chair. Alex was very calm and kind to him, he accommodated us to make sure he had a decent hair cut which in the end meant him sitting on my lap whilst watching Peppa Pig! He did a great job and was very patient with us both, made sure I was happy with the cut before we left Would highly recommend for fidgety toddlers!

Positive experience: I don’t understand why this barbers is 5*. It wasn’t that great. Nothing terrible, it’s just not somewhere I’d return to. I’m leaving this review a year later, after recently searching for a new barber and seeing 5* for you on Google, which I just don’t get. It was an unpleasant interaction when I visited. Happy to share my Google location data as proof, unsure why you think I haven’t visited. It was a walk in.

Negative experience: I am absolutely gutted about my experience here. I took my 12 year old son who had very long hair - it was past his shoulders. The guy asked what we wanted and how he wears it. I said I’m not too sure what we want it’s looking a little untidy at the moment due to it having a layer where the longest bit flicks out and the top layer curls in, but he likes to wear it in a pony or topknot or slick back. He said… okay I’ll make it one length without layers then, I said yeah, and it’s super thick too so he said he would thin it. He asked my son if he wanted to keep it long he said yes, maybe to his lips at the shortest. Halfway through I thought the guy was putting layers in but I decided to trust the process as I am not a hairdresser and maybe it was how it was thinned. Towards the end it was very short and I could tell it was being put into some style that neither of us had asked for, the back is full of layers that look absolutely terrible and weren’t thinned so it looks even worse due to blunt cut layers against his thick hair. I think it looks like i have attempted to YouTube layers and cut it myself at home. I literally was crying silently by the end and no one acknowledged me or checked on what the barber was doing to warrant my tears. The length… something we asked for to his mouth, Is now to his eyebrows and it’s layered there too. My son is very shy and his long hair is a part of him - he just went with the guy cutting it and then when he asked is this okay when he went shorter because I hadn’t stepped in, it was already too late anyway as the back was so short that him keeping the new curtains longer or not didn’t make a difference. I understand that this is a barbers and they were working with long hair and not a typical fade cut. However I wish they would have just said it was beyond their skill set. I wanted to walk my son back into the shop once I realised he too hated it and was tearful, to ask them to fix the back at least but he said he just wanted to go home. I will be taking him elsewhere to have it fixed, and he will have to grow it for a year again. But I wanted to write an honest review about the experience and honestly the bad haircut which regardless if we hadn’t wanted the short hair the style or not, it wasn’t a great cut. I have tried to attached photos of before when it was long; and after. You can see my son is visibly upset. I just wanted to get him out of there. I am still devastated for him about this. He can’t even wear it in a pony anymore. I am just adding on my reply to your comment…firstly we did not have numerous conversations, I contacted the barbers myself to say how upset I was and Alex apologised and asked me to send photos which I did, you then called me later to apologise and yes you did offer me to come back and have a look/fix it which I declined due to having no trust - you also sent a refund. That is the only communication we had. Secondly, do not make assumptions about my 12 year old who you did not meet or know. He is very shy and does not talk and is not confident. He had told me what he wanted, I communicated it to the barber. The communication was, no layers just one length, and to his chin/lip at the shortest, my child and myself at no point communicated layers even if the length was short. What was delivered was an absolute mess full of layers and a bodge cut (which I have photos of) he did ask my son, is this okay? As he was trying to fix whatever he had started and my shy child said yeah sure because he is not confident. I have photos of him with tears in his eyes in the shop still as soon as we were in the other room. He did not want that but regardless I had told the barber and I am the parent and it is ultimately my choice. Finally the cut had been done so badly that the barbers I sent him to to correct it were shocked, they all came to have a look and make suggestions. The layers were uneven and to correct it, it needed to go very short. I’m willing to upload photos of the uneven layers. I have added a before and the afters.

Fantastic experience: Always kind patient and adaptable, nothing is too much bother and despite meltdowns my little one always gets a good haircut!

All the staff are so friendly, its a really nice atmosphere and my boys feel very relaxed when their having their hair done, especially with Bonnie's patience with younger ones. Only started going to Alexander's a few months ago and won't be going anywhere else from now on.
