Negative experience: TOTAL SCAM. Avoid Mardy at all costs. I booked a cut through the app for $62.10, but once I was in the chair, he told me he wouldn't even do the a style I wanted because I "didn't pay the $75 price." He was 10 minutes late, spent the start of my cut yelling at me because he was "too busy," and then intentionally gave me a rushed, blunt "mushroom" cut because I didn't pay his hidden upcharge. I've been growing my hair for a year and he completely ruined the shape in 10 minutes because of a pricing dispute HE created. Absolutely unprofessional and openly rude. He took my money and then refused to provide the service I asked for. Save your $75 and go to a real professional who actually respects their customers.

Negative experience: Booked online, had to pay to make the booking which is fine, chose the service I wanted a kids haircut $50 plus the platform fee to book, I did not choose the $35 trainee service, yet when we arrived after waiting 20 minutes for our booked time we get the trainee, I get they have to learn and would be fine if I had of chosen him or not all ready paid full price. Make sure you don’t pick any staff or will pay full price for a trainee job, he did okay but his supervisor could of kept a better eye on him, and he definitely needs to work on his customer service or even looking like he wants to be there or enjoys his job the slightest.

Fantastic experience: I have been going to see Marty and the gang for years and have always left with an awesome cut. The banter is always top notch as well.

Well today was the day, my usual (Rachael) was doing important life things so the lad stepped up and did his job under exceptional supervision. Kings is a credit to Ballarat and been my go to since I moved here. Cheers guys Merry Chrostma.

Fantastic experience: Zane has never missed, a talented barber even though he’s young. Had about 6 cuts now and he’s the go in the area I tried a few other shops before in Ballarat and a good fade is hard to come by. Always on point at kings crown. Good shop and nice atmosphere can just kick back and get it done.

Negative experience: Ridiculous, not to be a Karen, but.. Ive been growing my hair out for months and was really due for a haircut, and then this bloody hairdresser totally ignores everything I say, Wich mind you I was very clear and tried to be as transparent as possible, and he just butchers my hair with exactly NOT what I asked for. I thought to myself “hes not a beginner, but I’ll just tell him to give me a low taper because every single barber in Ballarat knows how to do one” and sat down. Boy was I wrong. He completely ignores what I asked for, and gives me a crew cut. Then he gets me out of the chair and tells me ive got to pay him $60! I wouldn’t come back here if someone payed me to, they really need to work on their costumer service. Although even if he ignored me, the haircut was somewhat ok. But not worth the money

Fantastic experience: As has been said before, it is good to see people who have pride in their work. The owner is a very good trainer as he has had apprentices there and I had my hair cut by one a while ago. I have a double crown, which causes some problems. On this occasion, he instructed the apprentice not to just cut the hair but to look at how the head is shaped and to adjust the cut as need be. I have never had a problem with the way my hair is cut here and will always go back.

Negative experience: I got a haircut from here recently and all I can say is that I’m rather disappointed. I gave a description of what I wanted and showed multiple photos of a very simple hairstyle and I came out with a haircut way shorter than I asked for and the sides of my head were cut completely different to each other. Not to mention the person cutting my hair was rude and clearly didn’t care about his customers. In the end it left me $55 down and being laughed by at by people for having “one of the worst haircuts they have ever seen” and being told I should “wear a hat”. Never coming back.

Negative experience: KINGS FROWN Came in with my girlfriend so she could explain what kind of haircut I wanted because i'm not great with words. You didn't even let her get one full sentence out before you started berating her about how she can't just say "longish" when everyone's idea of longish is different and that she had to tell you what numbers to use. Girlfriend stood there silent while you kept going on about "abolishing" this idea of people coming in with no idea about guard numbers or whatever. You made my girlfriend cry and she walked out! I should have left too but I was too stunned to say anything. Ended up with a haircut but it's not great because she never had a chance to even describe to you what I wanted. I'm sorry but if you need your customers to be so technical with a design that you can't do it unless you are told what guard to use then you should not be a barber at all. Also the convo with you while you were cutting my hair made me realise how misogynistic and homophobic you are. I had been here once before and had a great haircut with a different barber and this was my second time today - now never going back. Disappointing experience.

Negative experience: Unless you know exactly what haircut you want down to the millimetre I would skip this joint. The blonde barber was very rude (as other reviews have pointed out) and didn’t cut my hair in the way I said I styled it. The shop looked pretty nice which is why I gave 2 stars. Probably wouldn’t go back.

Fantastic experience: Great professional group of barbers who take immense pride in their craft. They take the extra time needed so you don't feel like another haircut they have to do. The owners and more experienced barbers even came over to my barber to check in and share their expertise and make sure everything was to a high quality. Walk in business model works great for those who don't want to book weeks in advance for a hair cut.

Negative experience: Well what a disaster! We have been going here for years for my son's hair and we decided to give them another chance as previous cuts had been good but not exactly what he asked for. This time he needed a "TRIM' on the fringe and a clean up back and sides. He had been growing his hair for months and his fringe is lip length but springs up to eyebrow length. I asked the girl to check in with him to make sure the back and sides were the correct length for him. Well number one the fringe was butchered and layered and so short it was THE EXACT OPPOSITE OF A TRIM. At no time was he consulted or spoken to during the cut. He refused to go to his yr 10 formal that night he was so horrified by the cut. He literally said "I'll go if you cut my head off"!!!! I couldn't contact for feedback as Facebook is unattended and no phone number is listed. I wrote a letter and posted it through the door with my contact details and this has been blatantly ignored. Poor customer service, extremely average cut of a style that was FORCED upon a 16yr old shy boy. Pretty disgusting way to treat previously loyal customers. Guess it's time to find barbers with ears that work who are willing to cop some fair feedback on the chin and face it instead of acting like unprofessional sulky brats and ignoring you.

Negative experience: I went in with long hair asking for a Keanu Reeves style cut. Ended up leaving with a short back and sides for 55$ I spent all that time growing my hair for someone to cut it and not know what they are doing,

Negative experience: They cirtainly know there stuff there, and the cut I got was pretty good. But I was the only person in the shop that was wearing a mask. The only reason I did just walk out was it was about the only place I could find that was open on the day and that didn't take bookings, it was all walk ins.

Fantastic experience: Used to go all the way to Melbourne for a haircut because there are no options locally for short hair (African type hair) stylists but I couldn’t anymore due to lockdown. Then I tried these guys. Amazing! A bit expensive but I got the desired value and I would definitely repeat. Even my Mrs gave the cut a five star. Thanks guys.
