Normalvist, når jeg har været til frisør, har jeg altid efterspurgt 6mm længde i siderne. Her blev jeg forslået at klippe det i “etager”. Bedste måde jeg kan forklare det uden at kende fagtermer indenfor frisørfaget. Det bliver et vildt godt resultat og jeg er gået fra salonen hver gang med en følelse af, at jeg ser godt ud. Samt et par gode tips til hvordan, jeg håndterer en hvirvel, som altid har generet mig. Det er helt fair, hvis prisen varierer afhængigt af hårlængde, men så skal det stå tydeligt ved booking, eller jeg skal informeres, før klipningen starter. Det skete ikke her, og det føltes uprofessionelt og utransparent. Selve klipningen var god, men oplevelsen trækker helhedsindtrykket kraftigt ned. Ærgerligt, for jeg havde ellers overvejet at blive fast kunde. Jeg vælger en anden frisør næste gang. Svar på besvarelse: Tak for dit svar, MJ. As long as you’re satisfied with the result, that’s what I take pride in – and I’m truly proud of it.
That said, I’d like to clarify something important:
At MJ The Great Dictator Barber, haircut prices are based on hair length and hair type, and this is clearly detailed on the booking page.
For example:
Short hair (under 50mm): 250 DKK
Long hair (50mm or more): 350 DKK
Shoulder-length or longer: 500 DKK
Curly hair: 350 DKK
…and so on – everything is explained thoroughly.
In your case, your hair is Asian-type, which is known to be one of the most technically difficult to cut, as it tends to stick up and out to the sides. This requires more time, skill, and precision.
Some clients get a haircut every week, some once a month, others every 2–3 months – obviously, it’s not fair to charge everyone the same when the effort and time involved are completely different.
The booking system depends on honesty and self-awareness – you're expected to choose the price option that actually reflects your hair’s length and condition.
It’s not about picking the cheapest price and trying to renegotiate once you're in the chair.
And of course, it’s not realistic to ask every client to send me their CV and front, back, left, and right profile photos, so I can schedule a consultation, assess the hair in a courtroom-style session, and issue the final price – plus legal consultation fees, of course!
Also, it’s important to understand that some barbers charge 100 or 150 DKK, and that’s perfectly fine.
But there are also professionals who charge 350 DKK or much more, depending on experience, technique, and service quality. Everyone has the right to choose what suits them best.
At the end of the day, you are completely free to go wherever you feel comfortable.
It’s all a matter of taste – just like food at a restaurant.

Just two days before your haircut, I was seriously thinking about quitting barbering. Too many barbers popping up in town, and I started looking for another job that also uses scissors – maybe tailoring, or working as a florist, or even studying psychology to help humanity release their inner depression

1 year ago Negativ oplevelse: Very poor time management, can make you sit for more than an hour, will give unnecessary services saying they’re free but will then sneakily charge you at the end, the online reservation and price you booked for doesn’t matter as he will simply claim to have not seen it. The shop is under some construction and plays the Quran the entire time. Also will attend some calls and do random stuff. Basically quite unprofessional. Does seem a bit crazy but is kinda skilful and knowledgeable. Could be much better with some management and direction. In the end he argued to pay him more than what i had booked by charging me for those extra services which he said were free. I absolutely refused and he asked me to not visit there anymore.

"I’m surprised you decided to leave a review three or four months after your visit to the shop, even though I was very clear with you at the time and told you that you are not welcome here again because you do not appreciate the level of service we provide.
Regarding the Quran that I play in the shop, this is my private property, and I spend 7, 8, or even 9 to 10 hours daily here. Therefore, it is only natural that I listen to what suits me and what I enjoy during this long time. This is my personal choice, and it has nothing to do with you. If you prefer to listen to something else, such as music, you can use your headphones without interfering with what I choose to play in my shop.
In addition, I must mention the unpleasant odor that lingered in the shop from your clothes, body, and breath. It was as if you hadn’t showered in a long time, and the smell was overwhelming, almost like passing by a sheep or a pig that had been in the area for a while. I honestly don’t understand how the Danish authorities allowed you to stay here with such an unpleasant personal hygiene issue. If you care about the experience in my shop, please take personal hygiene into consideration next time.
Also, when I checked your profile, I noticed that you left two-star ratings for three different barbershops in just one hour. I find it hard to understand how such hasty judgments can be fair or accurate.
When you booked online, you chose the short hair option for 250 DKK, although your hair was long (10 to 12 cm) and curly (kinky), which requires significantly more time and effort. Your hair needed the top section to be separated from the bottom and then carefully layered, which takes additional time to achieve the best result.
The price list is very clear and displayed in large text in front of the barber's chair. After I finished your haircut, you tried to pay only 250 DKK. I explained to you that the correct price for curly hair, categorized as long, is 350 DKK. I insisted on the additional amount because that is my right, as clearly stated on the price list.
As for the skin cleaning service with wax, I offered it to you free of charge as a gesture of goodwill since you had been waiting for 15 to 20 minutes. Despite this, your reaction and behavior were inappropriate, which is why I told you explicitly that you are not welcome at the shop anymore.
Regarding your rating of two stars, I want to clarify that I deserve much more for the work I did on your hair. With the style I gave you, I made sure to enhance your appearance and adjust it to something more appropriate for Europe, as the look you had before did not suit the standards here. You might be used to a different style, but the result I achieved was a significant improvement. Honestly, based on the service and care I provided, I should have earned 20 stars, not just two.
If you are looking for lower prices and faster service without attention to quality, there are many other shops that offer this type of service, and you can visit them anytime.
Let me remind you that this shop provides a unique and high-quality service that differs from most shops in Denmark, where haircuts take only 7 to 15 minutes. In my shop, I dedicate 45 minutes to an hour, or even an hour and a half if necessary, to focus on every detail. This is what sets us apart, and my customers appreciate this effort and attention.
I wish you all the best, but I will reiterate: you are not welcome in this shop.

I showed the way I would like the cut and we had discussion on the best approach, where I left it in his hands. The outcome was superb, the fade was the best I ever had, my hair were cut exactly to my satisfaction. I was even instructed how can I approach this cut to make several hairstyles. Truly amazing experience and I would recommend MJ to anyone.

2 years ago Fantastisk oplevelse: Ich besuche MJ jetzt schon seit eineinhalb Jahren. Terminvergabe klappt online immer problemlos oder man schaut ohne Termin kurz vorbei. Das geht auch immer. Für den Haarschnitt wird sich immer Zeit genommen mit Auge fürs Detail. Besucht man MJ öfters, merkt man schnell, dass er stets gut gelaunt ist und sich merkt wie die Haare von einem selbst am besten geschnitten werden. So schnell werde ich keinen neuen Friseur suchen

2 years ago Fantastisk oplevelse: Første gang jeg er hos MJ, og fik lavet en fade... Min egen frisør er på ferie så man er lidt forsigtig med nye frisører. Han har en virkelig god sans for hvor høj eller lav faden skal ligge, og han giver sig god tid med arbejdet. Jeg er virkelig tilfreds med resultatet. Salonen er fin og der er en okay mængde NV vibes. Han går virkelig meget op i at udstyret er rent og sterilt, så kæmpe plus. Noget han gør som ingen andre frisører gør er at han sender dig afsted med services man ikke havde bestilt. Han faded mit skæg og rettede kanter til og næsehårene blev hurtigt trimmet. Og han gjorde en stor indsat for at få fjernet alle de små hår man normalt for samlet i ørene og resten af ansigtet. Han fortalte mig at han altid har været meget fascineret af frisører og at han som barn i Egypten hang ud i saloner. Han elsker det han laver og det kan man virkelig mærke. Kommer måske til at bruge MJ oftere end min egen frisør

2 years ago Fantastisk oplevelse: great service, nice barber and overall a good experience. He did a great job with my hair and he definetely knows how to cut black hair. Best barber ive seen in cph would definetely recommend. He also knows how to make great fades. ( im sorry i took so long to make the review i got my cut like a month ago and i completely forgot i just remembered).
